What are people saying (AI review summary)? Residents generally find the apartment buildings and individual units appealing. However, there are significant and recurring complaints regarding management practices. The most prominent issue is the consistent withholding of security deposits, often for excessive cleaning charges, even when apartments are left meticulously clean. Several reviewers explicitly state that cleaning thoroughly upon move-out is pointless as deposits will be retained regardless, sometimes citing a past policy where cleaning fees were applied universally or due to third-party cleaning companies. While management claims to have changed this policy, past residents received little to no recourse. Another major grievance is the annual 'jacking up' of rents, making living there increasingly unaffordable. Some minor maintenance issues and 'landlord specials' were also noted, questioning the 'luxury' designation given the price. Management feedback is mixed, with some staff members being praised, but overall policies, particularly concerning deposits, are heavily criticized for being greedy and unfair.

The place was nice, all appliances worked.. but I seen the review that Dean wrote and this is spot on to what happened to us. We cleaned up everything, spotless etc. I never got my deposit back whatsoever!
The structure, building, and apartments are really nice. Management has their issues, including greed. Rents are jacked up every year. My girlfriend lived there for 3 years and kept a very clean apartment. Never had any complaints and the rental increases every year made it impossible to afford. Then when she moved out we had the place spotless. Cleaned behind and under the stove and fridge, cleaned every single blind, every light fixture, inside and outside every window, the window tracks, etc... It was move in ready when we finished cleaning it (I know because I have multiple rental properties myself and hold cleaning to a high standard). They charged for carpet cleaning as expected, but then charged for 8 hours of cleaning on top of that, which was absurd. The lady checking us out even commented it was the cleanest move out she had ever seen. Oh, also we put all 4 new drip pans in on the stove before moving out, but yet she was still charged for new drip pans. Ridiculous and greedy management. Don't bother cleaning when moving out because they will keep your deposit regardless. Judge for yourself if this looks like an apartment that requires 8 hours of cleaning. Its not worth the time to fight them on it as it would take going to small claims, but need people to understand there is no point trying to get your deposit back because they will keep it no matter what. **Update 10/26/21** Emailed the company as suggested in their response yesterday. I will update this review with the outcome of the discussion. **Update 2/1/22** Took a while for me to update. Management did nothing to right the wrong that prior management did. Understandable...and the reason they reached out is because they state they changed the cleaning deposit policy. It appears the prior policy was that regardless of the cleanliness of the apartment the cleaning people had a list that they cleaned. This is why nobody got refunds, regardless of how clean it was. Just flat-out poor practice. They claim it is different now. I urge people who have recently moved out to state if anything has changed.
Okay after living here a year, I will not be renewing my lease. From finding melting wax PAINTED over on the windstill, and a stained pink drawer, with multiple what seemed to be glue stains in the carpet from previous owners, I cant say this place is worth $1,485 a month. I had one of the shelf's in the closet by the door almost fall down because they didn't install the pole on both support beams, just one, causing the weight of the clothes to pull it out. It's just landlord specials all the time you'll find. They also wanted to increase the price $80 a month if you keep a year to year lease, and hundreds more for monthly leases. You can find anything in Albany cheaper. Management is nice, and there's holiday events at the clubhouse, but condition wise they are not luxury by any means.
The apartment itself was great, and the staff also, however when I moved out I spotlessly cleaned the apartment, but because they contract out to clean their apartments after move outs they took the word of the cleaning company that they spent 5 hours cleaning. This was a total ripoff. So out of $500 dollars i received back $173. In the past 5 apartments that I have lived in the least that I have received back was $450, and that was because of carpet cleaning. Be aware that you won’t get a large portion of your rent deposit back no matter how good you clean it.
Don't do it. Loved living here, but after receiving half our deposit back after 8 hours of cleaning and no damage to the apartment, our opinions have changed. If you pick this place anyway, save yourself the time and skip the cleaning when you leave. They are gonna charge you whether you clean the place spotless or not. I won't ever recommend this apartment complex to anyone and I will go out of my way to retract any nice comments I've made about the complex in the past. Jennifer (manager on site) was great, but taking the word of a third party cleaning company who is paid hourly by what they claim as dirty...not a good idea. There are other reviews complaining about the same issue for a reason. Listen to them!
