What are people saying (AI review summary)? Guests at The Country Place Resort consistently highlight the exceptional hospitality, varied daily activities, and delicious food as key reasons for a highly enjoyable family vacation. Staff members like Larry (the activity director) and Iris, along with owner Shama, are frequently praised for their warmth, attentiveness, and ability to create a welcoming, family-like atmosphere. A wide array of free activities, coupled with access to the Zoom Flume water park, ensures entertainment for all ages. While the buffet-style meals are described as 'incredible' and 'perfectly cooked,' a significant and recurring concern revolves around the inconsistency and often 'below par' quality of the accommodations. Issues reported include poor lighting, cold water, non-functional appliances (though some were resolved quickly by the owner), stained ceilings, cracked floors, sparse furniture, and a lack of daily housekeeping, with some guests struggling to get assistance from the front desk. Despite these considerable room deficiencies, many reviewers express a strong desire to return, emphasizing the positive overall experience driven by the resort's dedicated staff, engaging activities, and excellent cuisine.

Me and my family went here for a week and honestly, it’s the most fun of a vacation I have had in a while. Our family had a previous vacation spot that we attended for YEARS, but it ended up closing down. We tried forever to find somewhere like it but never had any luck. This is the first time since my childhood that I felt like I was a kid again. There were daily activities like pickleball, volleyball, boccie ball, corn hole, can jam, whiffle ball, bingo, and LCR. There were also a few arcade games, a pool table, air hockey, ping pong, and foosball that you didn’t have to pay for which was nice. The food was INCREDIBLE. I have never been on vacation where I ate my whole plate Every. Single. Night. Absolutely amazing mini buffet-like set up, everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The chef was so nice and would check on every table to make sure everything was ok, and the dining staff were so nice and funny. The staff is so polite and genuinely wants to help you out. The owner was so present in the resort and very down to earth. Not a day passed where we didn’t see her at least three times. Larry and Iris are amazing. I literally cried saying bye to them. It feels like a family, everyone is so involved. Larry was the activity guy and he’s such a people person. Great at everything, and it was so fun when he joined in. Iris is so sweet. I was sitting there talking to her and it’s so nice to converse with someone who is genuinely interested in what you have to say. Literal power couple right there. The ONLY complaint I have are some of the rooms. The only nights were lamps, and our water didn’t stay warm. Our friends also had a room where the fridge didn’t work, later on we found out it was the outlet. Another room we had had an air conditioner that wouldn’t turn on, but the owner switched our rooms right away. No questions asked, so accommodating. Anyway, we are going back. We all loved it, and I am so excited to see the staff and this location again.
Larry and his wife Iris made our stay exceptional. Larry is the social director of the property and couldn’t have been more amazing. He had activities lined up every day for kids and adults and was an absolute pleasure. For the price per night, the accommodations were below par. We stayed in room 14 - a two bedroom suite that had 1 full/queen in one bedroom and two full beds in the other. The ‘living area had three pieces of furniture; one armoire, one end table and a small pleather futon that we were afraid to sit on. There was no coffee table and thankfully we had a camping chair in the car that we used as an extra place to sit. The ceiling tiles were stained and falling down and the tile floors were cracked. Upon arrival the owner Shama told me we were missing a piece to our toilet paper holder and that they would bring one to us - well that never happened. There is no daily housekeeping - meaning no garbage pick up and no new towels. I called the front desk for more towels and never got a call back. I called 10 times and no one ever answered the phone. We received breakfast and dinner daily which was good. The owners really need to consider if they would spend the same amount of money to sleep in a 1-star rated motel room. Access to the zoom flume water park was phenomenal and the kids had a blast there. I have mixed feelings about leaving this review - because Larry and Iris were amazing but the rooms were horrific.
Its a perfect getaway place for a family of any size. Usually open only for the summer and the hospitality is from another level. The nearby Water park is a perfect addition for kids. Lastly, The owner couple were present throughout to make sure we are accommodate best. Looking forward to be there soon again.
I really enjoyed our visit to The Country Place Resort. Shama and the rest of the family and staff made it feel like home. They were very helpful and accommodating from the very first bi to the very last goodbye, when we left. They were always attentive responding to any issues quickly, but there were few. The days activities were listed and announced at breakfast, I clouding trips to Zoom Flume watermark, arts and crafts games karaoke and henna tattooing to name only a few. The food was plentiful, well prepared and tasty. The villas were clean well kept and comfortable. I loved it. The group and I will definitely returned.
Our camping trip got rained out so a big group of families checked into the cottage place. Billy was a pleasure and the weekend was saved! Plenty of space for the kids to run around and adults to play games, use the fire pits, and generally hang out. It is on a very quiet street so it felt very safe for the kids to cross the road between hotel rooms and resort. The restaurant and pool weren't open for the season so they let us set up our snacks on the bar. We'd love to go back when the water park is open.
