What are people saying (AI review summary)? This park is generally well-regarded as a free, family-friendly destination, particularly for those seeking water fun and picnic opportunities. Key amenities include a splash pad, picnic tables, grilling facilities, shelters (available first-come, first-served), a playground, walking trails, bathrooms, a rinsing station, and a basketball court. Many reviewers praise it as an excellent spot for children's activities, including birthday parties, noting its safety and wheelchair accessibility. However, common criticisms point to cleanliness issues in some areas (e.g., maggots at picnic tables) and the playground being 'dull,' needing renovation, and lacking swings. The splash pad's operation, which requires continuous pressing of a sensor and has short cycles, can be a minor inconvenience, as can its temporary closures for chemical balancing. While one reviewer mentioned the location isn't 'the best,' it's generally considered decent and family-oriented, with many expressing intent to return.

Such a great little place. Definitely recommend if you want to take your kids somewhere for a little fun and you don’t wanna spend money. There’s picnic tables here so you can bring food.
This was a nice spot to bring the kiddos. It has the splash pad, walking trail, picnic and playground area with a grill. I didn't deduct a star, but the place could have been cleaner. Maggots were all over the picnic table area. Otherwise, it was great. I think there may have been a basketball court, too.
If your looking to get out of the house with the kids for a picnic and let them have some fun in the water for FREE !!!! This is the place . I will admit it’s not in the best area but for the most part it’s pretty decent and family oriented. The shelter is first come first serve the one near the playground for those wanting to do Bdays or cookouts . And the they have another shelter near the water area to sit down as well . Bathrooms are available and rinsing station . They also have a basketball court as well up the hill . The way the splash pad works , you have to keep touching a sensor pad on a blue pool inside the splash pad to activate the water . The cycles run for a short period of time maybe 5 min but kids have to continually keep pressing it in order for the water to stay on . There are times we’re the water does not come on but reasons for that the Chemicals in the water are being balanced . Small park but overall the kids had a blast . Definitely will be coming back .
We had a awesome birthday party for our 5 year old grandson here it was clean and safe and wheelchair accessible 100% they had such a wonderful time I would only recommend sunscreen ... we definitely will be going back in the future it's a great place to cool down and relax with your kids ...and free was a plus thank you city of Lexington for the experience!!
The play area was very dull and needs renovation. There weren't even any swings at the park. They should've just left the pool there honestly it was much more resourceful.
