Indoor and outdoor pool Soft and safe grass Clean facility Yes, you should buy wristbands online in advance (which I did, and it's super easy). I don't see too big of an issue with this. It is not the best pool you'd go to as a last minute idea since they do sell out rather quickly. I imagine that this pool being one of the few in Albuquerque with water slides that they get very busy and can get crowded quickly, so I understand they wanted to mitigate this issue by opening online tickets. My kids did get yelled at a lot when riding down the slides. I was watching them and didn't see anything unsafe or irresponsible that they were doing, but there are areas I couldn't see, so it is what it is. Safety first. There wasn't a lap pool. Everything was more wading in the water instead of actually swimming. You can stand with half of your body out of the water in every pool...so this was a little sad because I wanted to take my kiddo to practice his swimming. Definitely not the best place for this. We will return. The kids had an absolute blast. Plenty of chairs and not overly crowded, which is nice. I recommend for a fun day!

A really nice option for swimming. We went for a birthday party and the nice part about it was that there was a limit to the amount of people that could be swimming. Unfortunately, the outdoor splash pad was shut down due to a "floater" but the overall experience was great. Plenty of lifeguards on duty and a 2 hour window is just about right for a swim time for a group of kids!.

Beautiful outside with music playing. Slides for fun. The indoor pool is nice too but definitely needs cleaning.

Been swimming here since I was a kid. City run facility that is clean, and good bang for a little buck. Rec swimming is done in sessions to ensure there are never too many people in the pool at a time. Lap swim is well organized. Good music and great lifeguards.

Pool is nice, but do not like how the reservations are ran for the different sessions. Instead of opening up online reservations a hour before to give people a better opportunity to reserve spots, reservations are available in May for all months with no limits on how many sessions can be reserved. My family just moved back to ABQ and were excited to swim at West Mesa but was not aware of the new program until we arrived at the pool and were told that the session was sold out. When I went online to see if I could purchases passes for another day, I saw that it was not advertised on the pools website nor was it easy to find the link to purchases passes. To my disappointment when I did find the correct site, I saw that the remainder of the online summer passes were sold out. The only way to buy a pass would be to go at 0700 and hope that something is available. This feels like a disservice to the community when it is not easily advertised and those who are not technically savvy may not understand how to buy the passes online. This process is a disappointment and saddens how it is not inclusive or well communicated.
