We just completed a 35 day stay at Arrowwood. We have done this for the past 10 years and use it as our "cabin" for the month of July in one of the King Suites. We had a wonderful time. The room was cleaned regularly very nicely, the pool was very well maintained. Things were picked up and the outdoor grounds were very neat and tended to. The fireworks were terrific (the rain created a bit of a problem, but they were still great). The staff exceeded expectations and were ALWAYS very cordial and helpful. We will be back next year!! Thanks for a great stay.
Front desk staff were the only thing that made the stay pleasant! Our first room had an enormous black and green mold patch on the ceiling between the beds. I can see another review three weeks ago noted the same issue, so this was clearly never addressed. The front desk staff quickly moved us to another room, but the second room had a perpetually damp carpet and was absolutely freezing at night (outside temp was in the 50’s during the day, inside it felt barely warmer and we had to dig extra blankets out of the closet just to get any sleep).
I've been here many times in the past. And have always had a great time. But now the hot tub was scummy, the ice machine area smelled of raw sewage. And the water park pools were badly lite and pools were all rust stained. The rooms also had a heavy smell of industrial cleaner to mask the sewage smells in the halls. Never again, not worth a $280+ for one night on a weekend. This hotel has changed owners and staff. The new owners really let this place go.
We had an awful stay at Arrowwood. The room we were first given was absolutely disgusting. The carpet was covered in filthy, bloody-looking stains, and one of the lamps was broken and hanging crookedly. It looked like no one had cleaned or maintained the room in a long time. To make matters worse, the entire floor smelled like raw sewage. It was overwhelming and made it nearly impossible to relax or even breathe comfortably. We tried to tough it out, but it got so bad we had to go to the front desk and request a different room we literally couldn’t stand being in there anymore. Thankfully, they moved us, but the fact that we were placed in such a disgusting room to begin with is unacceptable. I would not recommend Arrowwood to anyone. For the price, you expect at least the basics: cleanliness, safety, and comfort. Unfortunately, this hotel failed on all fronts.
Unfortunately, our experience reflects what several other reviews have noted. Arrowwood is in a prime location and has many great features and fun things, including being right by a beautiful lake and having an awesome mini golf course. We have been here several times for a weekend conference where the family attends. This time was different as the place is clearly run down and not taken care of. Our room was dirty and the worn down carpet did not appear that it had been vacuumed anytime recent at all. There was goose poop all over the mini golf course, which we had to play around. This would be an easy thing to clean up and help the course be more relaxing and enjoyable. We tried the tennis center for the first time, which is a great feature. Unfortunately, the room was still set up from an event the previous evening that had not been cleaned up... so, tables were in the way and we had to carve out our own space in the corner and play without a net. When staff did come to clean it up, they didn't say anything at all to us about it or anything for that matter, and took their time cleaning up. The customer service oriented way would have been to apologize and then help get the tables out of the way first in the area we were trying to use, instead of saving that area for last. To add, the floor in the space does not appear well taken care of. It truly appears that customer service and maintenance of the property in general has gone downhill to the point where we are considering not coming back next time. I hope that management can get something figured out as this place has been a place of peace, relaxation and fun for many for so long, and it would be great to get this back.
