Clean public pool featuring a lazy river, multiple slides, a rock-climbing wall and a playground for kids.
The explicit water temperature of Doug Russell Aquatic Center is not consistently published. As an outdoor public facility, its temperature typically fluctuates with ambient weather conditions and is generally unheated, providing a refreshing experience during the warm Texas summers.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Doug Russell Pool is a popular and affordable family destination, generally praised for its cleanliness and fun environment. Key issues noted by reviewers include limited shade availability, potentially cold water, and a strict 18+ age requirement for supervisors that can lead to entry denials. Payment methods for entry and concessions are inconsistent, with some reporting cash-only options. Important information like water slide height requirements (48 inches) and exact operating hours are not always clearly listed on the website, leading to disappointment. The pool can also get crowded, especially if specific sections, like the kiddy pool, are closed.

Great place to take your family. Just remember to bring cash for entry, I believe it was $3 per person. They also had snacks for sale. The pool was clean and everyone was responsible and respectful. Can't wait for next summer!
Kinda understandably, they have a bit of excess on rules. Seems very popular and a lot of people showed up early to get the few shady spots. Kiddy section was closed for some unknown reason which packed everyone into the other pool areas. Shade was hard to come by. Nice place and very affordable.
Took my siblings here, it was a great time! $5 for everyone, and $10 for a cooler. Entry is cash or card. They do have a concession stand that is cash only. The big water slides have a 48” height requirement which isn’t listed on the website, so some of my shorter siblings were disappointed by this since they are strong swimmers. Overall a good pool, with two designated swim times.
The water was cold even on the hot day, they closed at 4 which i didn't see on the website but was ok they let us in for 45 minutes. Kids had a great time cooling off I do wish they offered more free shade though.
I walked all the way to Doug Russell with my 13-year-old sister and I’m 17 and they did not let me in because I’m one year younger than 18. This is why Washington is better.
