What are people saying (AI review summary)? Mead Pool receives mixed reviews, highlighting both positive aspects and serious safety concerns. Many patrons praise the facilities, including the children's walk-in area, large slide, lap swim, and diving boards. The swim education program is commended for its age and skill-appropriate curriculum, and the pool is described as clean with friendly staff, particularly noted for their interaction with groups like children with autism. However, significant safety issues were reported: one patron witnessed a child drowning unnoticed by lifeguards, requiring their intervention and leading to a strong recommendation for improved lifeguard training and vigilance. Another long-time attendee expressed concern about people throwing footballs in the pool, resulting in a 5-year-old being hit, and a general lack of safety for younger children.

We have attended Mead pool for years. The children's walk in area, a huge slide, lap swim area and the diving boards. The staff run a great swim education program and focus on curriculum that fits age and skill levels.
Nice pool I have been going here for over 20 years. my only complaint I have is since when is it allowed for people to bring footballs to be thrown around in the pool? One flew and hit my 5year old in the face. These kids are gonna end up hitting a child younger than that.
i was here visiting this pool with my bf and some of his family it was fun but there is a concerning incident that needs to be addressed. During my visit, me and my bf were over in the deeper pool, this was during when there was two life guards walking back and fourth of the pool, preparing to blow their whistles to let everyone know that the pool is closing. after the whistle was blown, i noticed one of the kids drowning in one of the other pools where one of the life guards were walking back and fourth, clearly walking past back and fourth from the kid multiple times without noticing the kids distress. This is extremely alarming because the life guards primary responsibility is to ensure the safety swimmers. the lack of attention and response could have resulted in a tragic accident. after the whistle was blown, that’s when i looked over and saw the kid struggling and i jumped out of the pool i was in to go to the other pool, walking past the life gaurs to help him and got him up and out the pool. i recommend that the management review their lifeguard training and ensure that all their staff are vigilant and responsive to potential emergencies. regular drills and refresher courses might help improve their attentiveness. this pool is fun but the safety of the patrons should always be top priority. i hope the management takes this feedback seriously to prevent any future incidents.
This place is so fun and got to see some any friend on the last day of school
