What are people saying (AI review summary)? Visitors to the park reported mixed experiences, with several significant frustrations regarding the pool facilities. Common complaints include the frequent and unannounced closure of the kids' pool, even on opening weekend, and inconsistent or unposted rules, such as mandatory life jackets for all children (even swimmers) without swim test options, and a strict no-floats policy. Patrons also expressed dissatisfaction with the pool's cash-only payment system and an early entry cut-off time (30 minutes before closing), and noted issues with dark and unclean bathrooms. On a more positive note, some guests enjoyed strolling through the butterfly and Liberty gardens, and one review noted friendly staff and a large, uncrowded main pool.

I like to start by saying that we drove 45 minutes to come to this park with our 5 kids (ages 5-15). We also went to bought floats for the kiddos to use. When we got there the lady up front told us that we couldn’t bring them in to use, so we went and put them back in the car, she stated that there is life jackets to use if needed. Also, we were informed that the kids pool was closed, only big pool was open for swimming. We went and got in the swimming pool with 2 of the 5 kids wearing life jackets and after being there for 45 minutes we were told that all kids had to wear life jackets. No where is it posted that it is required. After I spoke to a different life guard, they said that they had to pass a swim test but they wouldn’t do a swim test on our kids, they said our only choice was having them wear the life jackets — but wear is that posted once again!! Plus why does my kids have to wear life jackets if they can swim and was witnessed by the lifeguards there! I even checked the rules before coming. Also, the bathrooms were super dark and not very clean! Pretty disappointing experience! 😤👎
We love the kids pool here but they are never open when they say they will be. We got all packed and ready and drove there with a kid that was excited to go swimming, and they were closed at least 7 times last summer. This weekend was opening weekend...and we showed up on Saturday....closed for maintenance. Seriously? You've had 8 months to prepare. Get it together Taylor Parks and Recreation!
We visited the butterfly and Liberty gardens. It's the right time of year to enjoy these beautiful insects and stroll this park.
Got there at 7:32pm was told they can’t let anyone in after 7:30pm no point of saying it closes at 8pm if you can’t get in past 7:30pm. Taylor is having a multibillion dollar cutting edge tech facility being built down the road, it’s 2024, and credit cards were first introduced in the 1950s, but the only municipal pool in Taylor (and the surrounding area) is cash only until they can figure out the logistics to install a credit card reader at a pool that’s been open for decades.
Check website for schedule as it nears the end of the season. Friendly staff. Large pool. Not crowded (swam 5-8PM on a Friday). Bathrooms available. Cash accepted at door.
