What are people saying (AI review summary)? This YMCA location receives mixed reviews. Positive feedback highlights the dedicated and friendly staff, including specific instructors (Lou, Liz, Marisa, Kim, Dave), front desk personnel (Grace), and child watch staff (Maggie, MJ, Charlene, Katie), who are praised for making classes enjoyable and providing cheerful service. Members appreciate the wide variety of activities available, from group exercise classes like Latin Dance, Barre, and Tai Chi, to swimming, ball courts, and a range of fitness options like Aqua Fitness and Zumba. Conversely, there are significant complaints regarding administrative issues and policies. Many members report extreme difficulty in cancelling memberships, with one user being charged for almost two years after moving. Other criticisms include misleading information about guest pass requirements, a restrictive 'greedy' policy that prevents members from other YMCAs from using their pool (including specific mention of children being denied outdoor pool access), and observations of excessive, gossiping staff in the weight room who are perceived as a nuisance.

Special shout out to the killer work outs from Lou (Xpress), Liz (Latin Dance), Marisa (Barre), Kim (Total Body), the relaxing time in Dave’s Tai Chi class, the kind and always smiling Grace (front desk) and the wonderful people at child watch Maggie, MJ, Charlene, and Katie who is also a lifeguard. They make everything possible and do it cheerfully. Been a member for 6 months at this Y and I go everyday. I enjoy it so much I’m there for several hours. From playing ball on the outside or inside courts to swimming laps and then getting into a group exercise class or a yoga class all in one day. This Y has it all from Aqua Fitness to Zumba.
Very greedy. Won't let members of one of the closest YMCAs use their pool. They don't have to turn people away when YMCAs are supposed to welcome Y members nationwide. I was told they would not be allowing children to use the outside pool even when it's not busy this year.
Save yourself the trouble and do not sign up for a membership here. They will do everything in their power to not let you cancel your membership and continue charging you every month. I moved far away and was continuously told that the only way I could cancel my membership was in person until recently after almost two years of being charged. There are much better facilities in the area for less money and much better member services . Save yourself the trouble and do not sign up for a membership here
Do not recommend this location. Inquired about the guest pass (after driving 30 minutes there), just to be told you need to be accompanied by a member. Not true, when looking on their site and the actual guest pass form, it does not state that at all.
I don't understand why they need 4-5 staff members in the weight room. All they do is stand around and gossip. They are a nuisance to listen to while working out, over staffed ???
