New community center set up is awful. It's probably great if you have kids but if not it's just a complete downgrade in almost every possible way when compared to the previous facility. The locker rooms are tiny and set up in such a way that the floors are always wet and there's not enough room for people to change without being constantly in each other's way. Also I don't believe the 24-hour fitness part has access to a shower so basically got to drive home gross if you actually use that part, huge disappointment. They used to have a really nice hot tub for adults in the adult locker room, so after a workout you could relax and recover. Now they have some shallow hot tub in the communal pool area, with the kids, set up so a bunch of people can be in it. There's basically no chance you can actually relax because you got kids jumping around and splashing you plus the water is so shallow you can't even get the Jets to you upper back or shoulders. The gym area itself actually seems to be smaller with less square feet than previously, it seems like there are also less machines and types of machines. They reduced their hours and the hot tub closes earlier than it used to, so if you don't finish working out early enough it's just not accessible, unlike when they had one in the locker room. Overall it feels like they removed many of the things that made the gym the best choice for me previously. Looking for other gyms.
Wonderful experience. Grandaughter had a pool party w/10 friends. The parking was good, pool area was awesome & lifeguards that supervised. Facility very clean & staff was efficient & friendly.👍
The pool is a joke—the water isn’t even deep enough for adults. The locker rooms are a disaster (clearly designed by men) and a vanity with no vanity light? Seriously? The workout space is ridiculously cramped for the size of the building. Whoever approved these floor plans should be fired. The old building was a maze, but at least it was functional. This reconstruction is a textbook example of wasted money and terrible engineering. They removed the locker room saunas, screwed up the layout, and even managed to ruin the parking lot. Separating the childcare parking makes sense, but now there’s only one way in and out—what happens in an emergency? The worst part? This is the only facility in the Tri-City area that offers everything, so we’re stuck with it. It’s obvious they didn’t consider the community’s needs when building this. Dow’s legacy is tarnished by this architectural failure.
I enjoy the walking track and the gym. Taking my family swimming feels like a nightmare with how crowded it is. The pool feels half the size of what it used to be just feels gross swimming with so many people in a small space. The hot tub is small and is like sitting in a people soup pot. Overall the community center just feels small for how big our community is.
Majorly disappointing. The pool and hot tub are too small. The sauna isn't hot enough. People can't follow the rules on the track. Way too many kids and teenagers. I really wanted to like this facility but every time I go I leave feeling more stressed than when I arrived. Just not worth it.
