What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Lake Jackson recreation center is generally seen as a great place for all ages, offering a wide range of sports facilities including basketball courts, a gymnasium, exercise room, racquetball courts, and various classes, and is noted for its positive community contributions and proximity to McLean Park. However, a significant recurring complaint is the perception of 'too many rules,' especially regarding pool access, such as parents being charged an entrance fee solely to supervise a non-swimming child. Other criticisms include strict height requirements for slides, leading some to feel it's a waste of money, and issues with specific class instructors regarding tardiness, unprofessional behavior, and lengthy delays during activities.

Gave it four stars because it does have a lot of positive things for the community, which is great. I wish I had something like this growing up in my city. The only complaint I really have is I signed up for a cardio dance class. I am visiting my family for the next two weeks And I signed up and the Instructor was 10 minutes late. I asked somebody else if she’s always late and they said yes when I got in the class, the instructor did not say hi or introduced herself to me. What also bothered me was that after each song was over in the class she had to run to the back where her phone was and at one point I counted it took two minutes for her to find another song So her running back-and-forth after each song was like weird to me and kind of ruined the vibe, especially for taking so long to find another song one wasn’t a pleasant experience, but I would go back to a different class
Way too many rules. You can go here if you wanna bring your kid and hear them say I want to get on the big slide in there 1 inch off so they’re not allowed to. $15 waste of time
If you take your child (who doesn't know how to swim) to the pool and you just want to stay and watch him to make sure he's okay, you have to pay for your entrance fee too $7.50 just to get in and sit there watching your child and without using anything on the facilities. Excuse me, but that is ridiculous and makes no sense, and your child will have to be ALONE in the pool if you can't go in to accompany him, meaning if you don't show the money Do you really think the lifeguards at the pool are going to watch your child all the time while he's there??? At the reception, they told me that if something happened, they would call an ambulance 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️, obviously if something bad happened, the responsibility would be mine for having left him alone. I think they should examine their "rules" regarding the use of the pool.
i used to swim there I made it to state buttttt I hated that place I almost drowned my first day and there is toooo many RULES soi don't go
