About

Public pool offering swimming lessons with a shaded seating area.

The main indoor pool at the Prineville Aquatic Center is generally maintained at a comfortable temperature, typically ranging from 82-84 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 27.8-28.9 degrees Celsius), to ensure an enjoyable experience for swimmers and class participants.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The facility receives mixed reviews, with positive comments noting its value to the town, suitability for swim meets, and amenities like shaded seating. However, frequent complaints include inconvenient open swim hours that are not accommodating for working families, and water temperature often being too cold. Other issues raised concern spectator visibility during swim meets and a serious incident involving a lifeguard's unprofessional verbal conduct. A minor point about early morning bird noise for campers was also mentioned.

Giving 1 star because of whoever does the scheduling doesn’t take in account that people that work might like to take the kids swimming after work more than just Thursday’s so ending open swim at 3:15 pretty much cuts out majority of us that have to work normal schedules. Even doing 4-6 a couple days a week would be at least something. Then the one day they do offer it, it doesn’t even start until 6:30 and the weekend, it’s only open for like 2 hours. They seem to cater to lessons and water aerobics more than the working families. Because of the hours, we rarely ever get to go. It’s been this way for so long, I can’t see it changing.

Great to have in our town, great for the swim meets, however people should be outside the pool area. Makes it difficult for those of us in the bleachers to see.

My daughter had an amazing time splashing and swimming with her cousin. Only complaint was that the water was too cold which I heard from several kids. Grateful that I was able to sit in a deck chair and not the bleachers for 2 hours. Had a pretty decent shade covered area as well. Which is a requirement for people like me who get sunburned super easy even with high SPF sunscreen applied. Will gladly take my kiddos back again soon.

Swim meet is awesome! Camping two nights, neat. But the birds at 4:32am seems a little early.
