Park featuring a playground with slides and swings as well as tennis and basketball courts.
North Park features a sprayground (splash pad) rather than a traditional swimming pool. The water for the sprayground is typically not heated and operates at ambient outdoor temperatures, designed for refreshing play during warmer months.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the park are mixed, largely due to concerns regarding homelessness, despite significant recent improvements. As of summer 2024, the park boasts brand new amenities including an amazing playground, adult exercise equipment, a dog park, a disc golf course, art installations, enhanced lighting, and new bathrooms, highlighting considerable effort from the city and community. Reviewers praise the park's large size, making it suitable for multiple events, and highlight features like a wonderful splash pad, well-equipped playgrounds for various ages, and extensive cement pathways for walking and biking. However, a major recurring theme is the presence of homeless individuals, with some reviewers noting they generally do not bother visitors and advocating for the park as a space for everyone. Conversely, others describe the situation as 'sketchy,' citing visible homelessness, trash, and even an incident involving a fight near the children's area, raising serious safety concerns, particularly near bathrooms. There are conflicting reports on bathroom availability, with some noting new facilities while others complain they are consistently locked. Despite these issues, the park is frequently described as 'great' and 'beautiful,' though some suggest further upgrades like a larger indoor recreational facility.

Brand new amazing playground, adult exercise equipment, dog park, disc golf course, art, lighting and bathrooms as of summer 2024!! The city and community orgs have worked extremely hard to make these improvements. Yes, the park has its issues with transients, but they generally will not bother you. If you don’t want to see trash and visible homelessness, there are dozens of other parks in the city to choose from. In my experience North Park is safe and it is for EVERYONE.
Great Place. Very well taken care of. Lots of stuff to do.
I would have rated this park 5 stars, but there are so many homeless people there that it's pretty sketchy. The cops showed up, and there was a fight, and it got pretty wild! All in front of the kids' park. This park is REALLLLLY BIG!! I will be back, but with serious caution. On to the review. There is a wonderful splash pad water play area that has water guns and shooting fountains. The kids had a blast! The playground is great, too. Two play sets for younger kids and older kids, and there's wood chips all over with rubber pads, too. There's nice swings as well for babies and bigger kids. Like I said, this park is so large that you could throw multiple events and parties here and not run into each other. There's also cement pathways for walking, biking, skating, etc. This park is wonderful, but beware of the people by the bathrooms. The homeless hang out around there, and it's just not giving off "safe for kids" type of thing.
It's a beautiful park. There's no denying that. There were 2 or 3 homeless people hanging out, but they were friendly and were NOT causing any problems. A public park is supposed to be for EVERYONE to enjoy... right? The website should really quit boasting about having bathrooms, though. Yes, they have bathrooms, but they are always locked and no one is ever allowed to use them.
Great park. Deserves a larger indoor .facility for recreational sports. Could use some upgrades.
