If you’re even thinking about diving in Idaho, stop what you’re doing and call Brett at Idaho Dive Pirates. This guy is the real deal. From the moment we showed up, Brett made us feel like part of the crew. His passion for diving, safety, and just plain having fun is contagious. You can tell immediately that he’s been doing this a long time, and he knows every rock, wreck, and ripple of these waters. The gear was top-notch, the instruction clear and confidence-boosting, and the vibe? Pure adventure. Whether you’re brand new or have hundreds of dives under your belt, Brett tailors the experience to fit. And somehow, he makes you laugh the entire time. Hands down one of the best dive experiences I’ve had, anywhere. If you want to dive safe, smart, and have an absolute blast doing it, Brett’s your guy. 🏴☠️🌊

In 2013 we were exposed to scuba with Idaho Dive Pirates in a Scuba Experience ($25) and loved every minute of it, during this 1 Hour Scuba Experience I was able to understand how much I loved Scuba Diving. In Feb 2024 my wife and I came back to Idaho Dive Pirates for SSI Open Experience the classroom and pool time really prepared us for Open Water. The Professionals Bret and Adam really helped make sure everyone in the class (ages 10-60) were comfortable with the skills and knowledge needed to enjoy the Open Water Sessions. Instructors we have had the pleasure to work with are Bret, Eric, Ashley, and Adam each of these instructors are amazing with kids and adults. Being a teacher I am able to see the wide array of teaching styles and their ability to teach many different types of learners. From my interaction and experiences with IDP I have now invited my siblings and their kids to come and have Scuba Experience and Open Water training with Idaho Dive Pirates. Idaho Dive Pirates also have incredible store and can help you find the gear that fits your needs. www.idahodivepirates.com Open Water was a blast! In April 2024 we took SSI Diver Stress & Rescue, I feel this is one of the most valuable classes after SSI Open Water class if you want to be prepared for yourself, your dive buddy and those around you. I highly recommend this class and see how it can make your dive experience much more enjoyable as you are prepared to handle and address situations to keep everyone safe. October 2024 - Let's keep Going! After 8 months of Diving with Idaho Dive Pirates, I am still learning new things. Now our son is also diving, this has become more than a business where we took a class. It is now a place I go after work, Bret & Ashley, Eric & Sid are making this more of a reprieve from the world. While some go to a local pub, I chose to go to Idaho Dive Pirates and sit at their bar, or hang out on the sales floor, or go dive in the warm water of the pool. 2025 Spring Break Traveled with IDP and they location was a relaxing resort with some fantastic dive sites, They also arranged all travel to and from the airport once out of the country. This made for a very relaxing experience. I look forward to taking other trips with Idaho Dive Pirates.

Highly Recommend! Would dive with these pirates again! I had an awesome experience with Idaho Dive Pirates – 10/10 would let them toss me into a lake again. From start to finish, it was clear I was dealing with true professionals (despite the name, not a single parrot or plank in sight). Brett is the instructor, and let me tell you – the man knows his stuff. Equal parts dive master and underwater wizard. Not only did I learn a ton, but Brett made everything feel approachable, safe, and actually fun (which is saying something, because breathing underwater feels like sci-fi magic at first). His knowledge, patience, and commentary made the training whole experience unforgettable. I’m genuinely looking forward to more training in the future, mostly because I’m still trying to master looking cool while wearing a wetsuit. Huge thanks to Brett and the whole crew at Idaho Dive Pirates – y’all are legends. 🐠💦🏴☠️

I have had the best time learning to scuba dive at Idaho Dive Pirates! The instructors (Brett and Levi) were very patient and professional. They emphasized safety in their instruction and I never felt intimidated or embarrassed. The facilities were great and the indoor pool was nice and warm. I would recommend Idaho Dive Pirates to anyone who wants to learn this sport. I can’t wait to try my fins in open water and I look forward to learning more!

Brett Stewart is remarkable. He has simply gone over and beyond the boundaries of the Open Water diving course that my wife and I took. The course has given us tremendous confidence that we can dive. We will be forever indebted to Brett. The dive shop is top shelf all the way. The staff is amazing. If you are considering scuba as a hobby, Brett Stewart is your best choice.
