What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Shelley Pool is highly regarded as a fun, clean, and safe place for kids, often described as having a 'sandlot vibe' and clear water. Reviewers appreciate the city's maintenance, the adjacent park with picnic facilities, and the availability of cheap candy. The pool also offers diving and lifeguard lessons. However, there was a notable negative experience involving 'horrible management' and rude staff who refused entry to a family and others for arriving just two minutes past closing, despite the family having confirmed the pool was open by phone earlier that day.

We stopped in when visiting family and my kids love this pool. They always tell me that it has the sandlot vibe. It’s nothing fancy It’s just a great place for kids to hang out together. They have a decent selection of candy for the kids too purchase and then swim off that sugar high. We look forward to visiting the Shelley Pool every summer.
i love going to the shelley pool but i called earlier today to make sure they were open and they said they were and when we showed up from driving there they refused my family and several other people that showed up at the same time as us just cuz it was 5:32 and not 5:30 that is ridiculous and it was literally 2 minutes that is horrible management. one of the lifeguards was willing to but the male one decided with the manager to be rude to us and refuse our service
Fun to swim. Plus cheap candy for once your done
It's nice that the city maintains a clean and safe pool, as well as a nice park and covered picnic facilities on the same property. My son really enjoyed doing diving and life guard lessons here, and is considering applying to be a lifeguard once he's old enough. Now the city just needs to find some hot springs in town to have open for some good old winter soaking. (I swear those things are everywhere around Idaho except right here! Except I'm also happy not to live on top of an active volcano, so whachagonnado.)
It was very clean and the water was really clear.
