Lakeview Park Splashpad, located at W Lake Ave, Peoria, IL 61614, USA, is a popular, free, zero-depth water play area operated by the Peoria Park District. It features various interactive water attractions such as dumping buckets, spray nozzles, and ground geysers, providing a fun and family-friendly environment for cooling off during the summer season, typically from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
As a splashpad, the water at Lakeview Park Splashpad is generally unheated and its temperature is dependent on the ambient air and ground conditions, as it typically uses city water. Specific temperature controls or readings for the water are not provided, as it is not a heated pool facility.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The splash pad receives high praise for its excellent location, variety of fun interactive water features for children, and thoughtful amenities like a conveniently located restroom with a changing table and handwashing. Visitors appreciate the safety measures, such as posts preventing cars from driving onto the pad, and the two seating areas, although more shade and seating for parents are suggested. The main drawback noted is the lack of updated seasonal operating hours online, leading to frustration for those who travel to find it closed.

I visited this splash pad with some friends for the first time and I have to say, I think it's great and love the location! It was almost 90° today so there were many people there enjoying the water! I noticed right away that there were posts at the entrance so no cars could be driven up on the pad, that was very much appreciated, thank you! There is an outdoor single restroom conveniently located near the pad, which also includes a diaper changing table, sanitizer (inside), and handwashing (outside). There are two areas for sitting. The smaller area has a couple of benches, less shade, and a water table attached. The larger area has picnic tables, large canopies, much more shade and was quite crowded. Personally, I feel that there should be a little bit more seating or at least shade of some sort for the parents as there was no room for the three adults I came with to sit. There is some grass surrounding the pad so if you wanted to bring some beach towels you could comfortably sit there. As we walked around with the kids to observe, there were many fun things for the kids to interact with; I loved that! Rubber pads for kids to jump on, adjustable squirting devices, animal water toys to play with, a water rock table, and a large bucket (to name a few). The bucket dumps water on the kids every few minutes; it was fun to see the kids run under the bucket when it was about to dump all the water on the ground. The kids that I was with loved it, and it sure looked like everyone else did too! This is a great place for kids to come and play in the water and be able to have parents keep a close eye on them. Looking forward to visiting the one in East Peoria when that one is done! Thank you for building these splash pads; I know the community is going to love them! We'll be visiting again soon!
Drove an hour away but it's closed for the season already. Would've been nice if someone updated the hours on here.
