Pipestem Splash Park is an inflatable water park located on Adventure Lake at Pipestem Resort State Park in Lerona, WV. It offers a variety of inflatable slides, trampolines, and climbing structures directly on the lake, providing a unique aquatic playground experience within a larger recreational area that also includes a swimming beach.
The Pipestem Splash Park is situated on Adventure Lake, meaning its water temperature is natural and not heated or actively regulated. Temperatures fluctuate seasonally, reflecting typical lake conditions in West Virginia during the operational months (generally late spring to early fall). Specific temperature readings are not consistently provided, but visitors can expect water consistent with an unheated natural lake.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Pipestem offers a mixed experience, with the Adventure Lake receiving high praise for its fun inflatables, clean water, and attentive, kind lifeguards and staff, often highlighted as a great value compared to other local parks. Visitors with young children enjoyed it, appreciating amenities like golf cart shuttles. However, several negative points consistently emerged, including significant parking challenges, difficulty reaching staff by phone, and unhelpful responses when issues arose. Some found the requirement to print tickets inconvenient for travelers and noted a lack of pre-arrival information about the lake's distance and limited shaded seating. There were also isolated but strong complaints about staff demeanor (described as 'weird' or 'suspicious'), health concerns after using the splash pad, and questions regarding adult entry fees for the splash pad. While many kids had fun, parents sometimes found the overall experience, especially due to logistical hurdles, not worth the cost or effort, advising against purchasing tickets in advance.

First of all, what an awesome place! Went here with three young children. Each one enjoyed it they have something for all ages. They have golf carts to shuttle you from the office down to the beach area and back up when you are ready to leave. You are required to wear life jackets while swimming. Staff were nice. I recommend this place.
We went today and while it was fun, not sure we will go again. I purchased my tickets, and when they Were emailed, it stated I had to print them off. Well we’re traveling, so I could not. It was impossible to get anyone on the phone to ask questions. I called three times. When we arrived, there was a sign in front of the splash pad parking lot that said lot was full, park in the lodge lot. Well, the lodge lot was full too, with multiple cars circling. I called and asked what to do, and they said it wasn’t their issue, the water park is separate, and I need to ask them… they don’t answer their phone, and no where to park… Eventually we found a spot, then had to wait a good while in line. Once we were checked in, we found out the lake is 1/4 mile away, and you either walk or ride on a golf cart. It would be nice to have this information beforehand. They have plastic lounge chairs at the lake, with some in the shade, but they were all taken when we arrived and no shade left. Luckily I brought a blanket for the sand, though there isn’t much space. If anyone else had arrived with us or right after there wouldn’t really be much space. The kids had fun, but for me as the parent it wasn’t worth it. To be told three paid tickets do not equal a parking spot, and if there are no spots we’ll have to wait or forgo the $50 in tickets purchased really left a bad taste in my mouth for Pipestem. If you do go, I definitely wouldn’t buy tickets in advance.
My family and I got super sick after playing in at the splash pad... Got approached by a woman telling us we were in the wrong parking lot when we were just trying to get closer to the entrance because of my special needs children. I never have a good experience at Pipestem. Every time I've been the staff act weird like they're suspicious of everyone... Also why do you have to pay for adults at a splash pad? Do u think I'm playing in it too?
I took my niece and nephew, ages 8 and 9, to the adventure Lake at Pipestem and they LOVED it! What a great idea! (We didn't spend any time at the splash park above, though.) The blow ups were both challenging and a lot of fun. The water was cool and clean. The lifeguards and other staff were attentive, kind, and professional. I'm already planning to take them back someday.
Adventure lake was really awesome!! Considering the price of other places with inflatable water features Pipestems 100% had just as many inflatables and as nice of an area for half the cost of other water parks locally.
