The reviews for the Panhandle pool are overwhelmingly positive, with many patrons expressing long-standing affection for the spot, often driving from Amarillo. Key highlights include the pool's cleanliness, the refreshing water with minimal chemical irritation, and its affordability for families. The staff, especially lifeguards, are frequently praised for their kindness, attentiveness to children (offering toys, teaching skills), and overall friendly demeanor. The atmosphere is noted as welcoming and not overly crowded. Several reviewers also extend their positive sentiment to the town of Panhandle itself, noting the kindness of its residents. Grew up in this town since I was 7 and our only pool besides the country club! Always have loved this spot and my children do too, we literally drive from Amarillo just to come and swim! Clean and cool, doesn't have too much chemicals that dry out your skin and hair like most pools.
My son and I drive to Panhandle every weekend to just get away from Amarillo.(yeah I know it’s not too far) But one thing I have to say is.... everyone is so kind. Our trips to Panhandle started about a month and half ago because my son went to the Pharmacy and he had an old fashioned drink, he knows that I like things like that so I went and have been coming since. Today we went to the pool and kids were coming up to my 6 yr old asking him his name, if he wanted to play, were does he live. If they accidentally jumped too close to him in the pool, they would apologize. Then the lifeguard was so so nice. She came and asked my son if he wanted a ball and some torpedos to play with in the water. I also watched her help a little boy in the water and also teach him how to hold his breath. You could tell she loved what she did just by how she took the time to do that. Always had a smile on her face. We will be going again. Besides that the pool is very clean, great prices on snacks. I loved that it wasn’t crowded. This review not only goes to the pool but ALL of Panhandle!! Y’all are great!
This is a great pool! Large, clean, and affordable for a family. My only COMPLAINT is the fact that the hours on Google are completely WRONG from the actual hours. We showed up on a Monday (which says is open from 1-7pm), but they havent been open on Mondays for a few years. I have submitted suggested edits for the hours 5 times, and Google keeps saying the owner (which I assume is some idiot from the city's office) keeps modifying them to the OLD hours (from years ago), despite the fact that i've uploaded a photo to Google with the most recent hours. So, my suggestion is to look at the submitted photos with the CORRECT hours, until that idiot stops.
I personally love the pool and the service they have there is great, there is always a lifeguard on a stand or inside, and the pool is always clean. I hope y'all have as good of a time as I did.
Is a fun place whenever you have nothing to do in the summer. The food is good and the staff are nice.
