We did not stay here but came for the restaurant instead which was delicious! Food: Yum! I had the Tavern Club, three layers of sourdough, with turkey and cheese in one and tomato and avocado on the other. The flavor of the bread was great, and was nicely toasted and buttered. The avocado and tomato were fresh tasting and flavorful. The side Parmesan garlic fries were good too. I wouldn’t say I got much garlic flavor but I liked the crunchy crispiness of them. Service: Our server, James, was amazing, and helpful in giving suggestions on what to order. The one thing is that the food and drinks took a little long to come out but it was fine. Ambience: It was nice, peaceful and quiet. The seats were comfy and the view was just astonishing. The mountains were just right next to you. Overall: I had a great time here and would come back here for a nice lunch!
This lodge built in 1920 is a gem. Impressive building located outside Grand Lake and just before the entrance to the West side of Rocky Mountain National Park. Nestled up on the mountain. Insane view of Grand Lake. Our food was top notch!! Everything we had was excellent. Our server Shawn was a Pro’s Pro. She handled multiple tables and never missed a beat with us. Great experience!!
The rooms are sparse cabins but the view from the lodge is outstanding. It is not in the main town of Grand Lake but rather up and more secluded. Pros of this are the quiet isolation but cons are that you have to drive into town. The restaurant does not require reservations but it is strongly recommended. Ask for a window seat to enjoy the scenery while you eat. As for food, all the items we tried hit the spot. Our server Andy gave us great hiking tips. We came here for a wedding and I can't imagine a more idyllic mountain setting for nuptials.
Absolutely love this lodge. Perfect location, easy check-in and great amenities (pool view stellar!). We stayed in the Sears cabins and loved it! Special shout out to employee Danny in the lobby who proactively helped us with our requests. Thanks Danny! If people get the chance to stay here make it happen. You’ll be glad you did!
We didn’t stay here, but dined in at the Huntington House Tavern. We made a reservation a month in advance, so I am unsure how far out they book, but they did seem fairly busy when we went and it was 9:00 PM for dinner on a Saturday night in July. So I would recommend a reservation if you plan to dine. The food was amazing, as well as service. The host was great and seated us promptly. Our server, Ollie, was amazing and met all of our needs. Ollie recommended drinks, told us the soup/salad of the day, and was very attentive overall. We split the rolls and honey butter, I definitely recommend. My fiancé ordered the salmon and finished it all: very delicious! I got The Lodge Classic salad and it was delicious.
