Community pool with covered year-round lap swimming, and outdoor swimming from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
The pools at Great Mills Swimming Pool, including the lap pool, leisure pool, and whirlpool/spa, are heated year-round to ensure comfortable swimming conditions for all users. Exact daily temperatures are not typically publicized, but they are consistently maintained for optimal comfort and activity.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Great Mills Pool receives mixed reviews. Many patrons praise it as a fun, clean, and affordable facility, ideal for family outings and birthday parties, often commending the staff and appreciating the reduced crowds, especially during pandemic-era capacity limits. However, a significant point of contention for some, particularly younger swimmers, is the frequency and length of lifeguard breaks (up to 20 minutes) and the 'adult swim' policy, which are seen as excessive interruptions that diminish the overall swimming experience and value. A minor suggestion was also made to improve the accuracy of posted operating hours online and via phone.

Wow, just wow. The lifeguards get to take a break, which is fine and all, but that shouldn’t affect my swimming time at Great Mills Pool. I have been swimming in their pool for several years and never had a problem. Now we get to take breaks for how long? 20 MINUTES!!! I get that no one wants to be a lifeguard anymore ever since the pandemic hit, and there was a decline, but that’s ridiculous. Do they still do that “adult swim” bs? Yes, they do!!! So you’re telling us we have to get out of the pool while the adults get to swim, which was so unfair to me and the other younger children. So I go up to the lifeguard and ask, “Why are you doing this? We just took a break.” And do you know the reason they gave me? I bet you don’t, because I’m the one who asked, but they said, “Because I want to have a break.” Woah, woah, woah, you just took one! How does this make any sense!!! And my mom made a reply that “this is a bigger deal to us because we don’t get out. You would have to get out on a normal day.” Y’all have it easier than us, so shut up. In conclusion, my visit was not great because we got out too many times during my visit, while I paid to come here to swim. Never coming back. Find someone else to do “adult swim” bs because I ain’t doing it. ✌️
Hosted our son's first and daughter's 7th birthday party here. It was great and more than affordable. The venue was not crowded and the staff was great.
Nice and clean facility. During the pandemic, you need to make a reservation before coming in. They limit the number of people (50-75 depends on the section) (which is awsome because normally all pools are over crowded in the summer).
Always a fun place to spend the day amd see big smiles on your kids faces!!!!
Amazing memories made with my family here. Thank you to all the staff here for helping make that possible! Looking forward to trying out the indoor pool. The only suggestion I would make would be to be more accurate with posting hours online and on the phone line.
