About

Tuscora Park Pool is a popular aquatic facility located within Tuscora Park in New Philadelphia, Ohio. As part of a larger park that also features attractions like the Tuscora Park Carousel, the pool offers a refreshing community swimming experience, typically open during the summer months. It provides recreational swimming opportunities for all ages, often including features like a main pool and potentially shallower areas for children, making it a central point for summer fun and leisure in the area.

Specific, publicly advertised temperatures for the pool(s) at Tuscora Park Pool are not consistently available or typically published. Pool temperatures in outdoor community settings like this are often maintained to be comfortable for general swimming, typically without specific degrees disclosed online, and can fluctuate with ambient weather conditions.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Tuscora Park is frequently praised as an affordable and enjoyable family destination, offering attractions like swimming, putt-putt, and rides. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns, primarily revolving around the lifeguards and pool management. Lifeguards are often described as young, inexperienced, inattentive, and failing to enforce safety rules regarding horseplay, prohibited items (e.g., water balls), and pool etiquette. This perceived lack of oversight creates an unsafe and disorganized environment, particularly for families with young children. Additionally, many visitors report frustration over arbitrary pool closures, often citing non-existent thunderstorms, which leads to accusations of staff seeking excuses to close early. Poor customer service and a general lack of rule enforcement further detract from the overall park experience.

Enjoy going here with my family as they have a blast and it's very affordable. I am going to have to agree with several others in here though that the lifeguards need replaced or better training. They sit along the wall talking and having a good time with each other and when they are sitting around the pool they're still talking with their friends instead of watching. My last visit I witnessed 2 little ones jump in and the lifeguards didnt even flinch or acknowledge it. Thank God nobody drowned and the parents noticed in time for 1 and the kids around the other noticed.

During my visit today, I’ve noticed that the lifeguards on duty are very young and appear to lack the experience, authority, and proper training needed to run the facility effectively. The environment feels disorganized and unsafe, especially for families with young children. Additionally, the pool was closed due to a reported thunderstorm — yet there was no thunder or lightning. It felt like an excuse to shut down early rather than a genuine safety concern. This kind of unnecessary closure is frustrating for families who plan their time around pool hours. A city pool should be a place where safety is prioritized and staff are trained and supervised appropriately.

Very nice park and pool. But the rules that are posted to not get enforced. There are parents letting their kids have super soakers, pool noodles and more importantly, water balls. My wife got hit in the face with a water ball and the life guards did nothing. They said they don’t really enforce the rules!! Can you believe that??!! Kids hang out all on the steps so you can’t hardly get in or out of the pool. And the horseplay that goes on is ridiculous. During break when the kids are supposed to get out of the pool, they all hang out ON THE STEPS, and some actually get in the pool with their parent/s. The rules are posted loud and clear, but THEY DO NOT GET ENFORCED. The next time my wife or myself gets hit in the face with a water ball all because the lifeguards do not enforce the rules… lawsuit.

Every time I come here these staff pray for thunder so they can send their staff home and close for the day. Sold us tickets today without telling us the people were on break due to thunder. When I said something to girl that sold me the ticket she closed the window in my face. Better to just light a $5 bill on fire.
