If you are studnet of SUIC, or live in Carbondale area, you must bisit to this place daily. From fully equipped gym to Olympic size swimming pool to different game arena to Rock Climbing to Massage Chair, Sauna— you can find it all under one roof at REC

Love the rec and is great for students. Only complaint is who had the great idea to move the massage chairs into an echoing room where exercise classes take place? After a workout and freshening up, I'd like to lay in peace and not have to listen to some class echoing right next to me. There's plenty of room in the building to divide the two

Was told i could come down as early as 8:30am to sign up for a membership. I came at 9. When I arrived, it was clearly posted right in front of the reception desk that the hours the sign up desk were open began at 5pm. The only workout i got was the walk home.

Clean,nice equipment, you got to try them all, the aquatics are crystal clear, and the Olympic size pool is very impressive.

Swam a workout at the SIU pool in Carbondale IL when we were there to watch the eclipse 2024 Apr 8. Nice pool, great for a workout or lap swimmer. Enjoyed the pool. Did not use other Rec areas.
