The 5 stars reviews are clearly before the new management in 2023. The new management of this once fantastic facility has ruined it. Rather than spending funds on branding, the new management should have spent funds on HVAC, facility repairs and cleaning. There has been no air conditioning in the gym facility for the ENTIRE summer, which would have been received better by the members had the owner not lied to the members about the repairs. We were given wet towels as a consolation. It’s obvious this new owner has no business sense as the emails from the owner are negative, emotionally charged and grammatically incorrect. It’s disappointing to be treated so poorly. This once clean and friendly facility is now filthy, with a staff of unkind and unprofessional employees (with the exception of a couple of people). The new owner clearly knows nothing about running a business or customer service. Everyone I speak to in the club feels the exact same way.

DAC has went downhill significantly! They have machines go down & they don't fix them & a lot of the machines are broke or only certain features work on them. Very frustrating as this gym is closest to my home, yet I feel now I'm forced to find a different gym that CARES about their clients & their property w/in the gym!

Unfortunately this once great institution has experienced a rapid decline in terms of management and quality. What was once a clean friendly atmosphere has degraded to the point of disgust. Mold openly growing in water fountains, broken machines and weights scattered haphazardly among the weight room, multiple reported sightings of insects and parasites living in both the pool and water systems, and worst of all multiple members have complained of a strong order of animal feces in the ventilation. After almost of a decade of membership I finally had enough and will not be retuning.

Excellent facility with much to offer. Arguably one, if not the only gym/club with the most to offer in Decatur. Options are already pretty scarce in this town, but the DAC delivers. Wide range of tennis and basketball courts, indoor/outdoor pool, locker rooms, steam rooms, hot tubs, and especially gym equipment for even your most experienced lifters. Very retro equipment and facility. However, I have never seen such well maintained and clean Cybex equipment as well as others. I've seen plenty of newer, modern gyms with equipment in tremendously bad shape and poor cleaning routines. You can always expect machines to be widely accessible and usable majority of the time. Staff and other patrons are always friendly and welcoming. My only small gripe, is that you can expect the steam room (in the men's locker room at least) to be down every couple months due to a bad part. I would honestly prefer it be replaced with a sauna as it's getting in rough shape. Other than that, always a great experience, and suggest to any of those in the area.
