The Danville Splash Pad, located at 27 Phipps Ave, Danville, WV, is a public recreational facility designed for children and families. It offers a safe and interactive water play experience featuring various ground sprays, water jets, and other aquatic elements without the depth of a traditional pool. It serves as a popular community spot for cooling off and recreation during warm weather.
As a splash pad, the water is typically not heated and operates at ambient outdoor temperatures. Specific temperature data for the water is generally not provided or maintained, as it's designed for cool-off rather than regulated swimming temperatures.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the park are mixed, with several positive comments highlighting it as a clean, fun, and nice place for kids, particularly on hot days. Visitors appreciate the facilities, including picnic tables and restrooms, and commend the Danville Fire Department and City of Danville for community initiatives like providing refreshments. Children reportedly have a great time and are eager to return. However, one significant negative review describes a frustrating experience where the park was unexpectedly closed and locked on a Tuesday (despite no parties being scheduled as per the sign), leading to disappointment and a strong sentiment of not returning.

Wish I could give a ZERO star rating. We drove over to Danville with three small kids on a Tuesday only to find a locked gate and a sign that said closed on Tuesdays for parties. NO ONE was there at all and the gate was still locked at 2:30 pm. We called the number on the sign to see if someone could let us inside and the woman on the phone said NO ONE was available to unlock the gate—so I took my crying children to Magic Island in Charleston. I’ll never come back to Danville for this. WHO closes a park on Tuesdays and then when no parties are scheduled does not open the park for general visitors? 👎👎👎
My 3 yr old son and I went last year with a friend and to say he had a great time is a understatement..loved it!! Very clean!! Nice picnic table, love the rest room area & the trash can. Special SHOUT out and thank you to Danville Fire Department for bringing pop cicles, hot 🌭 dogs & kiddie drinks and individual chips for the kids.We visited in 2023 and will definitely be back this yr in 24!! That's all I've heard about since it got warm out lol 😆 😂 😅 Thanks to the City of Danville or whomever donated to make this possible for our little one's!! You all are th3 best!! Much love from Michael Stone aka Sabo and our big, loving, crazy, loud, chaotic life together with 7 kids together 2 grown, 1 just about the other is 16 and our next High schooler will be attending 9th grade this yr!! Can't wait to watch him play for the sky hawks!!! Go Sky hawks!! ❤️
My kids had so much fun
Really nice little place to take kids - great to see small towns like Danville doing things to benefit their community
Good clean place for the kids to play on a hot day. Just push the button on the blue pole to get the water going.
