Community-focused charity offers a pool, before- and after-school programs, preschool, and a fitness center.
The YMCA features two pools: a lap pool maintained at approximately 79-81°F (26-27°C) and a warm water therapy pool kept warmer at around 88-90°F (31-32°C).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews present a mixed view of the facility. Many users praise the cleanliness, well-maintained workout equipment, and excellent pool features including warm water, hot tub, and sauna. The front desk and pool staff received positive remarks, with specific commendation for swim teacher Sophia. Some daily users highly value the staff, equipment, and laid-back atmosphere. However, significant complaints revolve around the Child Watch service, citing unadvertised schedule changes, staff no-shows, and resulting inability to attend classes like Zumba, leading to wasted membership fees for some. Other criticisms include frequent and unpopular schedule changes, particularly for pool hours, and a perceived decline in the facility's 'fun' atmosphere since new management took over. An indefinite pool closure on August 24th was also noted as an issue.

I love the y I go every day the hot tub is amazing the staff the workout equipment is all top notch great laid back place
1, because the schedule absolutely is horrible then it was in 2016-2018. The swimming family pool hours on Saturday used to be 4 and why do y'all keep changing it. This place became such a dump when new management happened and doesn't feel the same fun as it was anymore. Quit with changing your schedules please
I like the variety of facilities I can go to in Wyoming and Northern Colorado, esp for pool access. The pool features are great in Cheyenne including warming pool water (not ice cold like others), the hot tub and sauna. Always clean in buidling. The workout machines are in good working order.
I wanted two things from a gym: Zumba classes and child care. This Y's Child Watch hours overlapped with their Zumba schedule, so I signed up, only to learn repeatedly that the Child Watch hours are not as advertised. The front desk staff eventually learned and told me that one Child Watch worker had gone back to school, so Monday and Thursday evenings just wouldn't have Child Watch anymore. The actual posted hours never changed; they just put up a little sign in the lobby those days. "Sorry for the inconvenience." Saturdays were even worse because I waited around for 40 minutes after the supposed opening time and the Child Watch staff just never showed up. I came to the gym for every scheduled Zumba class for three weeks and never got to attend the class. The Child Watch door was locked every time. I cancelled our membership after one month, having spent $103 (membership and startup fees) for nothing but four trips to the pool. Note: we might have gone to the pool more, but the pool closed indefinitely on August 24. The front desk staff and the pool staff were great. It would be nice if someday the Child Watch evening and weekend staff show up to work or they adjust the posted hours to reflect the time they can cover. That would have saved me time and money.
We love the swim teacher Sophia, she’s friendly and always takes the time to inform us of our daughter’s progress!
