About

WhoaZone at Whihala Beach is a seasonal, inflatable water park located directly on Lake Michigan at Whihala Beach in Whiting, Indiana. It features a large, floating obstacle course with slides, trampolines, climbing walls, and other interactive elements, providing a fun and challenging experience for visitors. Access is typically by paid admission, and it operates during the warmer months of the year, offering an active way to enjoy the lake.

WhoaZone is situated on Lake Michigan, thus there are no controlled 'pool' temperatures. The water temperature is that of Lake Michigan, which varies naturally with the season. During its operational summer months, surface water temperatures in this part of Lake Michigan typically range from the low 60s to mid-70s Fahrenheit (15-24°C), but can fluctuate based on weather conditions and currents.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Whoa Zone generally offers a fun and safe experience, particularly enjoyed by children and teenagers, with many praising the concept, safety measures, and cleanliness of the beach and water. Staff are often described as friendly. However, common issues include overcrowding on the inflatables, especially on weekend days, and inconsistencies in staff attentiveness or providing clear initial instructions, which some felt wasted paid time. Parking is a recurring point of concern; while some found it easy and close, others reported unclear signage, leading to unexpected tickets, despite the beach itself being free. The system of hourly exits for unlimited passes was appreciated by some as it allowed for rest.

We came for my daughter's 18th birthday. It was fun, but even after talking to a guard to fix a Velcro strap, we were seen, acknowledged, and then ignored. The inflatables were very crowded. Also side note to anyone wanting to visit.....paying for parking was heavily marked in the inner parking lot (closest to WhoaZone) but info about paying for parking was not at all visible in the outter parking lot. I received a ticket.

This was our first time to Whoa Zone and we loved it! Parking was super easy since the lot is steps away from the beach. We chose the unlimited pass. They do make everyone exit each hour. This gave the kids time to rest. The beach was very nice. You can bring floats too which is fun to lounge in the water.

Teenagers had an excellent time! I loved the cleanliness of the shore and beach water! We can not wait to come back.

The staff were friendly and kind. At our time slot it was a bit crowded on a weekend day. It would have been helpful if the staff told everyone at the time they handed out the lifejackets to stay on the beach for instructions. A group of kids ran out to the floats and waisted 5 minutes of our paid time slot. It was fun and we felt safe. The beach is free but you must pay for parking.

Spectacular idea and execution.. from the safety and the lifeguards in the rules that were simple enough for a child to follow and have the time of your life. My son said this was the best day ever!!!
