What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for Chico Sports Club are mixed, highlighting both positive aspects and significant concerns. Many members appreciate the club's amenities, including pools, sauna, steam room, and basketball court, viewing it as a valuable community resource for fitness with a generally friendly atmosphere and rarely crowded facilities. However, there are widespread complaints about poor maintenance, including worn and dirty carpet in the women's locker room, frequent equipment malfunctions, dated equipment (especially treadmills), roaches in locker rooms, insecure locks, and shattered mirrors. A very serious accusation details management's alleged lack of care for member safety, specifically failing to assist a victim of assault and imposing an ultimatum against reporting it to the police. Members note recent membership fee increases, with some hope that these funds will address the facility's shortcomings, though skepticism remains among others who have decided not to continue their membership due to the ongoing issues.

I have been to a lot of sports clubs. Chico sports club does a good job at giving the community a nice place to stay physically fit. I am grateful for having such a great place to stay in shape , thank you.
I have been a member here for 7 years. I enjoy the atmosphere here. My Husband has been a member here for over 30 years. I loved seeing the improvements to the gym, however when they upgraded the flooring and chose not to do the women's Locker room I was a bit disappointed. I figured it would come next. That was a couple years ago. The carpet is really worn and looks dirty all the time. The past few weeks I have come in and more and more equipment is out of order. I truly hope that the increase in the membership fees will go to improve the Women’s locker room flooring and eventually showers& equipment.
I do not recommend this place to anyone for one reason. The manager/supervisor gives no care for your safety. If you're assaulted on their premises they won't assist you in calling the cops and they'll also give you an ultimatum. Don't make a police report and you (the victim) can also stay a member there, but make a police report and both parties are removed. I still made the police report. Their gym isn't that good. Bring a YMCA here and it will crush this business with quality equipment and professional staff. Everything is dated there. Except their really new "Cafe". Edit Response: funny you told me you don't know me and have never seen me before when I told you I'm there everyday. So your response is a lie and I'm sure I'm not the one arrested so it seems I am innocent. And also you don't deny you lack of care for member safety. You just try and attack. 😂🤣 Pathetic.
I've gone here for a year. I believe that for what it is, it is enough. You rarely have to wait for the equipment, it's typically not crowded, and the people are friendly (staff included). The harsh rating comes from the poor maintenance of the facility (to an almost a dangerous degree in some cases). I've seen roaches in the locker rooms twice during the day, a few of the locking mechanism aren't completely secure, at least one of the mirrors are shattered, and the treadmills are ancient. In fact, some of the treadmills have skipping/slipping belts. Not to mention the fact that they make terrible noises. Their rates will be going up this year to around $74/mo, last I heard. The increased rates are intended to be invested back into the gym, but I will not be sticking around to find out. To their credit, I do see things changing (new carpet and new cables for pulley systems), so there is hope for the future here.
