What are people saying (AI review summary)? Gardner Pool receives mixed reviews. Positive aspects highlight a generally clean and well-kept facility, especially praised for its adult swimming lessons with instructor Ryan, which are described as confidence-building and effective. The staff is often seen as attentive, and the pool is considered suitable for small unit physical training. Reviewers also noted proper temperature regulation, a deep pool, and nice bathrooms. However, significant complaints revolve around poor lane management and a lack of adherence to advertised lap swim hours, with users frequently encountering occupied or taken-over lanes by military units or swimming lessons, often forcing them to leave or share. One user also found the pool to be notably dirty with various debris, and a minor issue of the facility being chilly due to an open door was mentioned.

I have been to this pool 5 times. Out of the 5, 2 times I had to share a lane, and 2 times I had to leave due to my lane being taken over. They advertise their morning lap hours as 0500-0630 am, and their unit pt hours start at 0630. I was there swimming around 0520 when an entire platoon took over my lane, cursed at me, and blocked the end of the lane so that I could not continue to swim. The staff, of course, let them in prior to unit pt hours, which caused the issue. Another time, I was there during their afternoon lap swim hours (1100-1300). This time, a life gaurd told me to go to another lane so they could do a swimming lesson in my lane. The problem was that there were no other lanes. One lane was being taken up by about 5 people sitting in the shallow end. Again, this was during LAP SWIM hours. It's disencouraging when I wake up early to get a lane or take time away from work to swim and I'm not able to do so despite being there on time and during their own prescribed hours. They should have hours specifically for swim training that don't conflict with lap swim, and they shouldn't kick me out who is actively lap swimming opposed to 5 people sitting in the shallow end. Active duty soldiers should not have to pay out of pocket to get in their laps, but that is what I am going to have to do due to Gardner Pool's lack of adherence to their own hours and their inability to manage lanes appropriately.
One of the dirtiest pools I’ve been in for a public pool. You’ll be swimming laps with all kinds of floaties (bandaids, bundles of hair, weeds, bugs…). Thankfully the temperature seems to be regulated properly.
Pretty basic no frills but overall great experience. Clean well laid out. Staff is very on top of their job. Great for small unit pt events.
I just want to give a big shout-out to this incredible place. I've been taking adult swimming lessons with Ryan and I am so grateful to him and the staff at Gardner pool. I have been able to conquer my fear of swimming, learn life saving skills and be a more confident, stronger person. Please don't hesitate to sign yourself or your kids here. The staff here is amazing and Ryan is an incredible instructor who I'm so grateful for.The facility is very clean, well kept and I always feel very comfortable here.
Great experience. Deep pool with plenty of lifeguards. Nice bathrooms. The only complaint I'd have is they held the door open so it was breezy and chilly
