What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews indicate a largely positive perception of the pool, with many praising its exceptional cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, ample space, and enjoyable features like slides and a nice concession stand. The water temperature is often noted as perfect, and most staff are described as friendly and attentive, with one instance of a staff member providing helpful assistance for a child's injury. However, several areas for improvement were highlighted. One significant concern was a lifeguard's rude and insensitive handling of a patron who was leaving but interacting with a private party, causing discomfort and distress. Other issues include excessively loud music impacting the park's atmosphere, a discrepancy between online and actual admission prices ($5 vs. $6), and an unclear or inefficient process for refunds or rain checks when the pool closes unexpectedly due to weather, leaving some patrons feeling they did not get their money's worth. Additionally, attempts to contact the park by phone regarding issues went unanswered.

Your online hours say you close ay 7pm. I would really like to enjoy my time in the park without Brooks N Dunn blaring in my ears. If it's this loud on the opposite end of the park...it's too loud for the kids in the pool. Please, keep the people at the park that enjoy nature in mind, respectfully. I did try to call and ask you to turn it down but you don't answer the phone.
I just left the pool today, (when it was closing) where a party was starting for people from the pioneer school. I recognized some of the attendees and wanted to catch up with them. However, the lifeguard, Malachi, was quite pushy and insisted that I leave, saying, “There’s a party, you gotta go.” I apologized, explaining that I was just checking on some people I used to help out. His response felt rude, especially since I really enjoy visiting this place and my daughter loves it too; it’s clean and well-maintained, and the owner is very nice. The other boys standing around him didn’t say anything, but Malachi did, which was disheartening for me since my daughter was right beside me. I hope that in the future, he can be more understanding and inquire about the situation before acting the way he did. If he had asked, “Hey, did you get everything you needed?” I could have easily explained that I was talking to someone from the pioneer group and just checking in on a couple of people. Instead of his approach, I would have wished him a good day. When I was speaking with a girl who was venting about being adopted, Malachi interrupted and told me to go because they were having a party. This made the other girl feel awkward, and it put me in an uncomfortable position as well. I truly love this place, but there needs to be more respect in situations like these. I understand they’re young men, but respect goes a long way. I tried to respectfully share the situation with him before I left.he didn't seem to care I wasnt bothering anyone I was right by the womens bathroom to leave! I just don’t think it was very ethical of him to act like that or it was that big of a deal! Especially with a Touchy situation like this that’s why I’m writing this because I could understand if it was a party of other people, but it was a party of pioneer people that I was trying to ask about! I would have given this five stars and I do give it five stars as far as the owner some of the other staff although some are quite rude I know sometimes you need To be direct with kids! But you don’t have to be rude. There’s a big difference, especially to adults! I think it’s a very clean and fun place that me and my daughter enjoy this. Just put me in tears today because I really wanted to know how they were doing since I hadn’t seen them in forever.! And the poor girl I was talking to probably felt so awkward and I feel like that was my fault! Because they came up when I was right by the women’s bathroom about to leave! I was going to express to the Girl about the people I knew, but I didn’t know if she was a teenager or old enough. She looked old enough! But before her, I was even talking to a lady that had to go because she was taking care of her children that she was there with! So that girl was just walking with me when I was walking to the bathroom on my way out and literally on my way out they came up to me! If it would have been two more seconds, I would have been gone, so I see no need for this! I know he has to follow the rules, but I wasn’t breaking any! I was leaving! So that’s why I’m writing this post but other than that the pool is a great place to go! I want tonote that My child had a accident happened and she had something on her arm, and I was trying to cover it up in my little Band-Aids for doing it and one of the guys there gave Me A bigger Band-Aid in a wrap to put on her arm, so I thought that was really nice! I’m still giving this five stars because the overall of this place is pretty good. I’m not gonna judge one person off of the whole place.!❤️ Keep up the rest of the good work!
My husband and I were really impressed with this pool. It's very clean, tons of space to spread out your things in the grass, only $5 per adult for admission for all day, and the concession stand is so nice with tasty snacks. We were there for 5 hours and it was so relaxing and exactly what we needed on a hot summer day. The slide is so much fun and we both got great tans! Always a plus! We will definitely be back!
On Sunday July 14th 2024, my husband and I arrived at the pool at 3:45pm. We decided to go due to the accessive heat and humidity, thought we might enjoy ourselves for a couple of hours of swimming in the nice cool water and laying out in the sun catching some rays. Well that was the plan at least. We very seldom get a chance to have any leisure time or treat ourselves to something special. We stood in line for about 15 to 20 minutes waiting for our turn to pay and get inside the pool. Which was okay, we are patient people. We paid the 6 bucks a piece to get in, which by the way the city pool website and on Google maps says it's a 5 dollar entry fee not 6. There is a sign posted at the window 6. So there's a discrepancy between any online information and when you get there. After we changed in the men's locker room and food a spot and laid down picnic/beach mat. I do believe it was a little after 430pm. I was able to walk up to the pool jump in and get wet. As soon as I came up from the water the life guard yelled break time. Even though it was break time, At this point I kinda chuckled and thought to myself, go figure just my luck. We get here, I jump in then quickly I had to get out. That was my extent of swimming for the rest of the day. Why you may ask? Well during break time one of the life guards was walking around to peoples spot and telling them about the thunderstorm heading out way. Although the guard at the time told me that they well go through the break time and then we could get back in but to be ready and aware that the pool will close when the storm arrives. We waited for 30 mins the whole break time, the second that break time was over they shut the pool down around 5 or so. As we were packing up, I stopped a guard and asked her since we just got here is there a refund or may we get free passes for a rain date. She told me that I would have to speak to someone up front. We gather our stuff and walk up front where there is another line that we waited in for about 15 mins. Once I got up to the window I asked the guy the same question. He told me to write my name and number down, how much I paid and how many people in my party. I did just that and People ahead of me on line asked the same thing and was told to do as such. When I asked, he stated that their manager is off for the day, and has been off for the past couple days due to an illness. He also stated that he hopes we at least get a pass to come back. Because the city is horrible about refunding money in said scenario. I will be calling the city pool today to at least see if I may get 2 passes. My husband and I wanted to swim, so with that being said we aren't worried about so much of a monetary refund. We would like to come back to get a chance to swim so free passes for a rain date would be very appreciated and welcomed. I do have to give the staff props and kudos for making everyone's safety a priority and for making the smart decision to shut down when they did. Because within 5 mins after we left the pool, the storm hit. Not only was there thunder and lightning also heavy rain and huge gusts of wind, which brought down some branches. Usually we always have enjoyed our time at the city pool that I would give it 5 stars. This time however I gave it 3 stars because we didn't even get a real chance to get our money's worth.
I can't say enough great things about this pool! The facilities are top-notch and exceptionally clean. The water is always just the right temperature, making for a comfortable and refreshing swim. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Whether you're a serious swimmer or just looking to relax by the water, this pool is the perfect spot. I highly recommend it!
