What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this pool facility present a mixed but generally critical picture. Positively, patrons commend the pool's cleanliness, the ample supply of lounge chairs, and the presence of numerous lifeguards, contributing to a sense of safety and good value. However, significant downsides include overly strict and arbitrary rules, which are seen as detrimental to a relaxing and fun atmosphere, leading to frequent scolding of patrons for minor infractions. Communication is also a major pain point, with one family driving nearly an hour only to find key attractions (slides) non-operational due to maintenance issues, without any prior public notification, while still being expected to pay full price. There are also complaints about a shortage of functional water tubes for slides and perceived indifference from staff and management regarding this issue. Suggestions include longer adult breaks and improved communication about facility status.

I'm from Mount Vernon but live an hour away now. I still come back home to the pool I love. Always clean, way cleaner than I remembered as a child or teen when I worked there as a guard. Plenty of deck chairs and it's a great value.
If you are looking for a pool that is relaxing and fun where everyone can have a good time, this isn’t the pool for you. I understand having rules and regulations to keep everyone safe as well as keeping the pool itself from being liable however their rules are arbitrary and make no sense. They literally have a sign that says no long breath holding… really…. Okay. Every single other pool we have gone to my boys have listened to the life guards and not gotten in trouble, however 3 out of my 4 boys got yelled at for one thing or another, heck I even got yelled at for having sun glasses on when jumping into the pool. (I have them on every other pool and have never heard that I can’t wear them as I hold them as I jump) There were nearly 75 or more people there and 2 slides. One of the slides you are required to have a tube and they have about 7 tubes. I went to this pool years ago and stopped going because they are so strick with every little thing. EVERY LITTLE THING. We were so looking forward to going and so disappointed with how we were treated. While it looks cool, it’s not worth your time or money.
Our family drove 55 mins to get to this place on a Sunday morning. We wanted a new place to check out that didn't cost a fortune to get in and was within an hour or so from home. This place looked like the perfect place..55 mins drive time...like $9 bucks to get in..they have slides and a kiddle pool. Well...I'm sure we would have all had a great time. We finally get there, load ourselves up with everything we brought to enjoy the day. We walk up to pay and notice that none of the slides or the water activities are even on. So we ask the girl working the desk and she says..."ohh yeah..last night like something happen with our motor".."and we just haven't posted it on Facebook yet." Ok now y'all ...we just drove and hour to get here with a 12 year old ..a 10 year old and a 4 year old...we are standing there in our swim suits...floats had already been blowup, so we're all holding them too and the cooler it's like 98 degrees outside and your slides aren't working....and y'all just ...oops forgot to maybe post the on social media for people to maybe know this before they travel to your establishment. But still wanted us to pay the normal price of $9...$9 for what...??? An already overcrowded pool..? With no place to even lay our towels down and absolutely no shade anywhere in site. That's wasn't going to work for us...so now we have a crying 4 year old ..a very upset 10 year old.. a 12 year old that was just ready to go back home and 2 very unhappy parents.. Thankfully there was a Comfort Inn not too far away that had their own splash pad/water park right inside the hotel..and only cost us $25 more then the overcrowded pool was trying to charge us. Needless to say my husband pulled it off and the kids had a great time. The point tho...It would have only taken 5 mins to make a post first thing in the morning about how half of your park was not operational..the fun part..!!! It would've saved our family from wasting our time..and the poor lady behind us who also showed up with kids wanting to do the slides and she had a whole group of others meeting her there. I completely understand that things happen...but you have to make the public aware of these type of things ASAP.
Been there a few times. This time was their on 6/3. My caveats are the water tubes were few and a couple were partly deflated(I know, could've had small hole(s); female lifeguard at the slides and management we spoke to acted like they didn't care about the tube situation nor the fact that children were reusing the tubes verses handing over to the next patron, thus avoiding issues; and that we were told there were two different lines for the tubes by the lifeguard and management: By the pool and by the fence, no consistency. Management shared a lot had popped over time and they are waiting on funding to buy more tubes. With as busy as Hiawatha gets would seem there's monies to do so. Make it make sense🤫🤔 The breaks should be at least 15 minutes for adults.
Very very nice place. Very clean. Bathroom, changing room, are super clean. Very nice pool deck, plenty of lounge chairs around pool. 4 pools, very safety conscious, plenty of lifeguard staff, great day with granddaughter for her birthday
