What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this YMCA facility present a mixed picture. Many members express significant dissatisfaction with the pool schedule, citing a perceived discrimination against children due to excessive 'adult-only' swim times and insufficient family-friendly open swim. Some also noted that adults interfered with paid children's lessons, which they found ironic given the restrictions on children during adult swim. One new member reported an extremely rude swim instructor that made them feel uncomfortable and reconsider their membership. However, other members highly praise the facility for its diverse offerings, catering to all ability levels with various activities like weight lifting, aerobics, pickleball, and swimming. The Roseburg complex is noted for its beautiful aquatic center, clean environment, new machines, and modern amenities including ADA-compliant bathrooms and family changing rooms. An out-of-town visitor particularly enjoyed the well-maintained facility, ample parking, and easy check-in process, highlighting the YMCA's nationwide appeal and the quality of this specific location.

I'm very disappointed in the discrimination against children with the pool schedule. If you had "open swim" for all members during the day then I would keep my membership. I wrote an email expressing this concern and was never responded to. The only reason we have this membership is to take our children swimming and couple hours in the evenings doesn't work for us. There is no reason for "adult only" swimming so often. I pay for my kids to have memberships and they should get to use the pool when there is no class. Adults can sign up for a class if they want adult only swim. I've been a member at several other YMCA facilities and have never had this problem. The membership is useless to me, it is not a family friendly facility.
Doesn't allow kids to swim during adult open swim, but apparently adults can swim and get in the way all they want during kids lessons we pay for separately. Very disappointing, because the other Y's I've gone to have never had this discriminatory issue.
There is something for everyone, at all ability levels. Whether you're into weight lifting, aerobics, pickleball, or swimming, there's a space for that and more. ADA compliant bathrooms, family changing rooms, dry changing rooms are all available. The YMCA is constantly adapting to the needs of the community. They're doing a fantastic job.
My first time coming here, while visiting from Ft Worth, Texas. I travel quite a bit, and this is exactly why I joined the YMCA... "because they're nationwide". I love seeing how each community supports their Y, along with the very different buildings, architecture and cultural influence from each city. Roseburg has a beautiful complex with an outstanding aquatic center. I'm a swimmer, so I'm "partial to pools" 💦 Nice and clean environment, and the locker rooms didn't smell or feel dated, with plenty of new machines and free weights to choose from in large rooms separating different functions. A bright looking spin room with high ceilings, new rowing machines next door in a cardio room, nice lounging areas, and a ping pong table! Plenty of parking in a secure area close to the well lit entryway...and my "out of towner" check in process was simple and fast. I can't wait to return next month and keep my exercise routine consistent as I continue to move about. Nice job Roseburg 💪✔️
I joined a few weeks ago and am taking an adult swim class. Most people have been nice, but on the very first day one of the swim instructors (not for my class) was extremely rude to me and I almost walked out. I still feel uncomfortable there because of it. I don't know if I'll keep my membership after the class ends.
