What are people saying (AI review summary)? HCRA pool generally receives positive feedback for its cleanliness, safety, and well-maintained facilities, with new management credited for improvements like fresh paint and clear water. Members appreciate the friendly staff, extended operating hours, and the owner/manager's dedication to member safety and satisfaction. However, a significant point of criticism revolves around the 'adult swim' policy, which often extends beyond the stated 10 minutes to 15-20 minutes every hour, causing frustration for families with children and leading to reduced enjoyment. Other concerns include a perception of too many rules, a doubled guest fee, and inconsistent functionality of the gas grills. The management has shown responsiveness to feedback regarding the adult swim policy.

Clean, fun, and the best pool day snacks! It’s clear the members, lifeguards, and staff take pride in keeping HCRA a safe and tidy facility for families!

Edit: Thank you for your response to my review. I searched for an email address on your website to address my concern that way but was unable to find one. Closing the pool for 10 minutes each hour makes sense for the reasons you stated and I am grateful to you for promptly addressing my concern and making changes accordingly. It speaks very highly of the pool management. My two children and I have been members of the HCRA pool for several years now and have spent many summer days enjoying the facilities. This year we have appreciated the fresh paint, clear water and clean facilities that the new management has provided. However, along with these benefits have come some policies that have made our time at the pool far less enjoyable than in years past. The worst policy is “adult swim” where the pool is closed for 15 minutes every hour at the top of the hour. The HCRA website states the following: “A 10-minute “adult swim” may be called at 10 minutes before each hour at the discretion of the pool attendant. Adults should convey their needs to the pool attendant or management. During “adult swim” all persons 17 and under must exit the water.” We were at the pool for 4 hours today, 6/20/22, from 11:00a-3:00p, and during that time the pool was closed to children from 11:00-11:10, 12:00-12:20, 1:00-1:20, and 2:00-2:17. It only opened at 2:17 because I went and found the lifeguard, who was on his phone in the pool house, and asked him when the children would be able to get back in. He likely would have kept it closed until at least 2:20 as he’d done the previous two hours. I understand one of the reasons to close the pool to children is to give lifeguards a break, but 15-20 minutes every hour is excessive, especially when the website explicitly says it “may” close for 10 minutes every hour. I have not been there once this summer that the pool has not closed for adult swim for a minimum of 15 minutes, even when there were no adults swimming at the time. If I had known that the pool would close to children every hour for 15-20 minutes, I would have found another pool for us to join this summer. And if it does not change, we will certainly find another pool next summer.

Too many rules like no vaping no eating in swimming area and no back flips. Doubled price to 10 dollars a guest. They do have gas grills but usually only one or two are in workable use. Despite rules its not that bad of pool.

This facility has been the backdrop of too many happy family memories to count...always immaculately maintained and carefully monitored for member safety. The owner/manager doesn't just run a business; she goes overboard to keep us safe and happy. Thank you!
