Indoor and outdoor pools, including a kiddie pool, on a clean property.
Specific and consistent temperature information for the Fairhope Municipal Pool is not readily available in public records. As an outdoor municipal pool, its temperature is primarily influenced by ambient weather conditions and may fluctuate throughout the season and the day.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the Fairhope Rec Center Municipal Pool are mixed. Positive feedback highlights the excellent staff, cleanliness, and facilities, including an indoor almost-Olympic-size pool, a great outdoor pool with kid areas, plentiful lifeguards, and additional amenities like water aerobics and a free upstairs track. Memberships are considered reasonable, and security is good. However, significant negative feedback focuses on poor management and limited pool availability. Several members report that the pool is frequently shut down for hours during prime times to accommodate the high school swim team, leading to frustration and neglected paying members. While some praise management, others criticize it as maladroit and unresponsive to member concerns, recommending alternatives in nearby towns. Visitors pay $5 per person.

It would be great if this pool was run well. Truly. The facilities are perfectly adequate. But If you're not a teenage swim team member, the Fairhope Rec Center Municipal Pool doesn't care about you at all--despite being a paying member. The pool is COMPLETELY shut down for hours every day at premier times, and effectively is shut down by 3:30 on Fridays currently. 3 hours a day all summer, the pool is completely closed during what is stated as normal operating hours. If there was another pool in town that was managed appropriately, this pool would likely lose every single member it had. Complaints to administration fall on deaf ears. It's frustrating to try to find time to swim at a pool that doesn't interfere with getting kids to school or having to work. It would be amazing if they would actually care and respect their paying members.
Cool indoor and outdoor pool! We went with locals. $5/person for visitors.
An embarrassment. A municipal pool with maladroit managers and equally negligent oversight from the City of Fairhope. Its attitude towards members and their concerns is more “please don’t rock the boat” than “how can we make this place better”. I would not recommend to anyone, especially those with children, to use this facility. It’s very inconvenient, but you’d be much better off by driving the extra miles to Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Daphne, or Mobile to use their public facilities.
Love this pool! Management is excellent!
If there were 10 stars I'd give them ! The staff is exceptional: it's always clean, they have an indoor almost-Olympic-Size pool & a great outdoor pool with little kid areas. Lifeguards are plentiful& equipment is in good shape. They offer water aerobics. There are dressing room showers & lockers. The HS swim team practices there so you have to be aware of the hours so you don't get disappointed. The upstairs track in the gym is free & open for walking & running, but the hand & pickle ball courts are for members only. Memberships are very reasonable for singles/couples/families, & with their security & ID system, the campus is safe.
