About

Open Memorial Day to Labor Day, public swimming pool with lifeguards, slides, and a dog park.

The main pool at Roger Scott Pool is heated for year-round use, generally maintained at a comfortable temperature often around 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit (26-28 degrees Celsius).

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool receives mixed reviews, primarily criticized for its poor communication and inconsistent operations. Patrons frequently report that phones are unanswered, making it impossible to check operating hours, closures due to weather (like lightning) or swim camps, or if key attractions such as kiddie pools are functional. Several reviews highlight that kiddie pools and other water features are often closed or malfunctioning, yet full admission fees are still charged. Pricing is another common complaint, with reports of inconsistent adult fees, high and increasing membership costs (which do not honor affiliated YMCA memberships), and extra fees for additional children. Other criticisms include rigid opening policies, long lines for slides, strict rules on flotation devices, limited seating, and very few food/drink options. Despite these issues, positive feedback mentions the pool's cleanliness, attentive lifeguards, and availability of free life vests, making it a decent public pool experience when fully operational, and visually appealing.

It was fun the first time we went... For a little an hour. Then we had to leave because of lightning. But they did give us a free pass for any day... Yeah we chose today... Oh but the kiddie pools were shut down because of a motor malfunction and the only way to KNOW ABOUT IT is if you actually go there... These people do not answer the phones... There's no way to know if anything is fully operational or not because if you go there specifically because you got small kids that can't swim and the kiddie pools are out and you live 45 mins away and there's no way to know unless you get there!!!???? That's ridiculous!!!!!!!! Answer the dang phone people! You suck.

It's a decent public pool. Nothing fancy. Plenty of lifeguards and they do watch. The slide can have long lines, so be prepared to wait. Also, all kids have to pass a swim test prior to using the slide. Teens included. There are plenty of life vests available for free use. Various sizes are available. There are no more than 30 lawn chairs and the sun shelter has 6 wooden picnic tables for use. Float rings 🛟 and other flotation devices are rarely permitted. It's clean because they have plenty of trash cans available. There are no food or drinks 🍔🌭🥤🧃 for sale, other than one soda machine (coke products). It's a good experience and I recommend this pool for families.

On the website, it looks like a wonderful pool. But the kiddie pools are not open and functioning the water's not coming down in the car wash pool so I don't know what's going on with that, but they sure charge you every day to walk in here and if you have kids, they can't use these sections because they're not. They're not functioning.I don't know if it's a problem with your motors, but it's really not fair to the public to have to pay.And come in and half the stuff's not working. A member of my family comes here for swim class, but when she wants to swim after the swim class to practice, we have to pay a fee for her to stay and swim for like 30 minutes. It doesn't seem quite fair. And when I as an adult want to stay and swim with this family member, I have been charged three different prices, and I just told him, I said you know, make up your mind what you're going to charge me and charge me the same thing.Every time because this is ridiculous. We arrived for swim class at seven fifty eight swim classes at eight o'clock.I walk up to the fence, the lady says, oh, we're not open till eight. We had to go and put everything back in the car for 2 minutes and then get it out at eight o'clock, two minutes later, and walk right back up here, ridiculous. Because the gate was open and everything we could have just sat in a chair which I told her.We would do. Another thing is that it's affiliated with the y m c a downtown, but they don't honor the membership that you have with the y m.C a downtown. You have to pay an extra fee, take them every and swim even though it's part but not part of the ymca downtown. Membership for myself used to be 30 something dollars a month. Uh oh no a season. Now the membership for me, a senior citizen is around sixty dollars. A family membership is like a 150A $170. And if you have more than 3 kids, you have to pay an extra $50 for each kid that to me is ridiculous. That's a ridiculous price for people who come up here and swim for probably maybe an hour with their children when they come And that's not every day. The pool, the setup is such a beautiful place. It's so nice here, easy to get to, but all these extra things make it very unattractive to come here and bring your children. It's just negative, and I don't like bringing them here and after the swimming lessons are over, we probably won't come back here.

Is it open? Good luck trying to figure out. There might be lightning within like 75 miles of Pensacola. Or a swim camp. And they close like 2 or 3 times a day for 30 minutes. The City should just sell the pools. No point to going. People are on to how its never open and always closing. City has too much liability and fear to run the pool
