About

The Salvation Army Pensacola Swimming Pool is an integral part of The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (Kroc Center) located at 1501 N Q St, Pensacola, FL. This modern aquatics facility offers both a competition pool and a leisure pool, providing a wide array of activities including open swim, swim lessons, and water fitness classes for the community. The Kroc Center itself is a comprehensive facility designed to offer recreational, educational, and worship opportunities.

The Kroc Center Pensacola's aquatics facility maintains specific temperature ranges for its pools. The Leisure Pool is typically kept at 86-88 degrees Fahrenheit (30-31 degrees Celsius), while the Competition Pool is maintained at 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit (26-28 degrees Celsius).

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews present a mixed view of the facility. Several highly negative accounts describe an incident where a woman, identified as part of a group leasing the space rather than an employee, aggressively yelled, cussed, and attempted to physically remove elementary school cheerleaders, requiring a referee's intervention. This specific event led to strong criticism and a decision by some to cease patronage. Complaints also include inadequate air conditioning, a lack of restrooms, and a $5 charge for elementary school games. In contrast, other reviews are very positive, commending instructors like Pablo for being efficient, compassionate, and teaching valuable skills, and coordinator Ms. Debbie for her helpfulness and responsiveness. The facility is also described by some as a nice and welcoming place with a large gymnasium and multiple bleachers.

Just watched some woman yell and cuss at my child and her squad to get out of "her gym". She had to be talked down by the ref and looked like she was about to get physical. The Salvation Army won't get any more of my patronage.

Pablo is our instructor. He's very efficient, prompt and compassionate. He has taught my child skills that will last a lifetime. Also Ms. Debbie the coordinator is always nice and responds promptly to emails.

Gym manager apparently gets off on bullying elementary school girls. Yelled and CUSSED at a group of cheerleaders and tried to forcibly remove them. What an awful person. A shame that they left her in charge of a charity. Also no restrooms and they still charge $5 to go into elementary school basketball games. Absolutely insane behavior. Updating to include the new information that the woman screaming at our girls does not even work there. She is part of the group leasing the space.

Pros: Large gymnasium/basketball court multiple bleachers, Cons: Not enough A/C power to cool it down properly.
