Park offering lakeside activities like swimming (at the lake or a pool), boating and fishing, plus campgrounds.
Specific pool temperature information for Smith Lake Park is not typically published or readily available. Outdoor park pools generally operate at ambient water temperatures, or are minimally heated to a comfortable range during their operational season rather than maintaining a precise, advertised temperature.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the park highlight a mix of positive experiences and significant areas for improvement. The riverfront area is appreciated for its open space, parking, and free access, though shade is limited. Smith Lake Park is praised for its polite and helpful staff, especially for events, and its ample open areas for children's activities, despite a small playground. The pool offers good value and cleanliness, but the teenaged staff are frequently criticized for poor customer service, apathy, and rudeness. Camping sites are generally clean, level, and well-equipped with power and nearby water, though a minor complaint was the lack of hooks in shower stalls. A major and recurring concern across reviews, particularly for the beach and swimming areas, is the widespread litter, including broken glass and fishing in swimming zones. Despite well-placed trash cans and reports to management, the issue persists, leading some patrons to clean up trash themselves, and raising safety concerns about sharp objects in the water.

River visit: It's spread out water front ,grass and river bank. Little shaded area ,made up of a few pine trees in a couple of spots with flat wide mowed area between trees and run off ditches. A lot of room to throw a ball ,and plenty of parking. No charge , low key, swim at your own risk in the river. They do have a pool same area, but I haven't been to it.
We had last minute cancellations at a park for a birthday party..... I was told to contact Smith Lake Park to see if they had anything available. When I called they was very polite. When I went up there to pay for the pavilion they was still very nice and polite, they also was very helpful with the questions that I had. The day of the party all of the kids had fun, there was a playground area with slides, swings, etc. I noticed the day I paid for the pavilion and went to look at what I rented that The playground was on the small side. There is a lot of open area though so I took a ton of different balls...... The kids had enough room to play football, soccer, kickball, etc. All in all it turned out to be a great place to do a child's birthday party, only rated 4 stars because the playground is on the small side
The pool is reasonably priced and clean. There are improvements that could be made, but for the price it's a good value. My main complaint is with the teenaged staff. They don't seem to appreciate their jobs and are apathetic, bordering on rude. Some act entitled and inconvenienced by patrons. There is a need for serious work on customer service. Otherwise it was an enjoyable experience.
We tent camped in site 56. The site was clean and mostly level. Each site has power, and water was close by. Bath houses were ok and mostly clean. Our really only complaint was there were not any hooks on the walls to hang your bag in the shower stalls. 1 of the 2 stalls has a bench you can set your bag, that's the one you want. The water pressure was great. Staff was nice and helpful. The office has anything you may need that you forgot.
We come to this park at least 3 times a month, and will continue to visit the beach for swimming. I’m only giving it 2 stars because they have a really big problem here. The beach is littered with trash, Even though there are Plenty of well placed trash cans. I have People throw empty beer bottles and cans in the water and on the beaches. Management doesn't seem to care that this is happening, and I end up walking the beach every time we go, picking up a whole lot of other people‘s trash. There’s broken glass in the rocks on the beaches, and people fish in the swimming area, so I'd warn anyone to make sure to put water shoes on kids at least... There’s a lot of sharp litter under the water as well. It would be a great place if they'd actually pay attention, but just yesterday I ended up swimming halfway across the lake to get a bunch of beer cans someone down the beach dumped in the water. Someone else on the beach saw who did it, reported it, aaaaand nothing happened....
