What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the Frieda Zamba pool present a mixed, but predominantly negative, picture. Positive aspects include its clean, well-designed layout with separate areas for lap swimming, walking, and a free zone suitable for younger children, as well as being reasonably priced and heated. However, significant concerns are raised regarding: (1) **Overcrowding and Safety:** Frequent and extensive summer camp use (10 am - 4 pm daily) leads to chaos, makes the pool unsafe and unenjoyable for families with small children, and takes over much of the facility. (2) **Lifeguard Conduct:** Many patrons report lifeguards on 'power trips,' inconsistently enforcing rules (e.g., banning some floats while allowing others, yelling at children but ignoring adults breaking rules), and being unhelpful or even bullying, particularly towards women with babies. (3) **Health & Hygiene:** Serious concerns include staff ignoring reports of a patron with open wounds entering the pool and later discovering a phlegm wad floating, raising significant health risks. (4) **Customer Service:** Complaints include a lack of disclosure about camp schedules when purchasing passes, poor weekend hours for family use, and a rigid no-refund policy when the pool closes immediately after entry due to weather. These issues often result in families feeling their money was wasted and vowing not to return.

My family and I purchased a summer family pool pass for Frieda Zamba last week. We went one time and today. Today was complete chaos. First off $150 for two months of swimming is a lot. When I purchased the pass not one person decided to mention the fact that there would be summer camps, and not just a couple hours a day, EVERY single day. The majority of the day. We arrived at the pool today around 11:00. By 11:30. We had to pack up and move our belongs twice because the camps just came in and took over the entire place. The pool, the swimming laps and 95% of the covered pavilion space. The camp today had around 35 kids with only two teachers with them I have an 8 month old baby who almost got jumped on and a toddler who is learning to swim and these camps came in, took over , and wrecked the entire place. They were kicking, splashing and horsing around the whole time. Jumping, diving and doing handstands with no regard to any one else in the pool. Not only did we basically get kicked out because of the stampede several other paying families left too. This is totally a disappointment and a waste of money because there’s no way we can go back. We both work afternoon to evenings and the morning were going to be perfect, but how are we supposed to enjoy our family time when there are multiple camps coming and going from 10am to 4pm and the pools only open from 9-6? It’s an unsafe environment for anyone with small kids.
The pool is wonderful — my kids absolutely love it and always enjoy swimming here! What I really like is how the pool is thoughtfully divided: there’s a separate area for walking and swimming lanes, and even a free zone that feels perfect for younger children to play safely. It’s very well-designed and family-friendly!
It’s a nice, clean pool with a lot of space to sit and enjoy however, these young lifeguards are on their own power trips. We went to the pool and my son, who is 6, brought a small, child size donut float. We were told that they don’t allow those in the pool by one of the life guards, not even the person at the door when we first pay. So we left the float at the table with our stuff only to go into the pool and see other people with pool noodles and child size boogie boards in the pool. Whatever, so my kids had fun and all and then we heard the lifeguards yelling at some kids about them touching the rope that leads into the senior walking portion of the pool. He said “Boys! Do not touch the rope or go under it!”… Meanwhile there’s two seniors walking in the “community”, shallow end of the pool even though there’s a designated area for them, and the whole time, the older gentleman was leaning and touching the rope as he’s walking outside of the walking area of the pool. If you’re going to “enforce” these “rules”, they should be enforced for everyone, not just some. Again, nice clean pool but this was definitely a turn off.
Reasonably priced, heated pool with low end for kids to play and several lap lanes for adults. Would get 5 stars if they had better weekend hours especially when school starts. That’s when families use the facility the most, weekends!
1.) A couple months back, an old man damaged my car in the parking lot. When he got out of his car, I saw he had open wounds. I notified the office staff and they said they didn't see anyone come in with open wounds and that he must have went to the park. Funny, I never see anyone go to the park in a swimsuit and with a pool noodle. They blew off the concern instead of taking precautions to thoroughly clean the pool after it was reported that someone went in with open wounds. 2.) Fast forward months later when the pool had electrical problems. We thought we'd try again thinking that they must have cleaned it by now.... Well, we got in and didn't stay long because there was a massive lugi (yes, a phlegm wad) floating around the pool. The lifeguards are a bunch of bro dude, PC Principal type guys who are looking to bully people for really silly, inconsequential rules. I was doing laps and had my baby in a floaty that I pushed while I did laps. I asked the front desk staff, before I bought my admission, if that would be OK. They said yes, as long as I was doing laps, I could use the lap lane. Well, at least 3 male lifeguards took it upon themselves to interrupt my and my baby's laps. The first one let it go because I was literally doing laps in a lap lane while pushing a baby in a floaty.... The second 2 (yes, 2 dudes had to team up against a woman and her baby) got all bent out of shape about it and made me move to the adjacent lane with my little one-year-old who was all nicely set up in his floaty. Another lady had to help me, because of course the lifeguards bullying us couldn't be bothered to actually be helpful. They watched me struggle to get in and out of the pool and didn't offer to lend a hand. These people are a laughable disgrace. I would stay out of that pool for health and sanity reasons if I were you. Won't be returning. PS: I paid to get in on another occasion and never even got to enter the pool due to lightening the literal moment I got there. They had no problem keeping my $4 despite the fact I never even got to enter the pool that day! No refunds, nobody cares.
