The Moody AFB Swimming Pool facility at Moody AFB, GA, offers both indoor and outdoor swimming options for military personnel, their families, and authorized patrons. It serves as a key recreational and fitness amenity, providing opportunities for lap swimming, recreational dips, and various aquatic programs throughout the year.

The outdoor pool is generally unheated and open seasonally, with its temperature dependent on the ambient weather conditions. Specific temperature values for either pool are not publicly available.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews express significant frustration primarily concerning the pool's inconsistent and often inaccurate operating hours, leading to wasted trips for families. Users report frequent unexpected closures without notice, an inability to reach staff by phone for updates, and a general lack of reliable communication. Many feel the facility is not adequately catering to families, particularly during the summer, due to its limited availability. When open, the pool is generally described as fun, but issues mentioned include a ban on personal floaties, poorly fitting life vests provided, and a hot pool deck (suggesting water shoes). There is also a question raised regarding whether the pool is accessible to the general public or restricted to Moody Air Force Base residents.

Is this open to the public of Valdosta or just residents of moody Air Force base?
The pool is always so much fun. The only issues I have is they don’t allow any personal floaties/jackets to be used and they always run out fairly quickly on a busy day. The life vests ride up and don’t fit kids very well. The floor is always super hot, so I highly recommend water shoes. They are closed randomly sometimes, but I’d say it’s pretty rare. In the summertime, the pool is open from 1pm-6pm Wednesday-Friday and all day Saturday , and once school starts it’s only open on Saturdays all day.
Only giving it 1 star, due to the fact that their hours/dates of operation are totally inaccurate! They are not open Saturday/Sunday any of the weeks before Labor Day weekend! Rest assured that I suggested an edit of their days/times of operation. But please, don’t end up in my boat… 3 young kids all dressed up and ready to swim, only to get there and them be closed. Even though they have party music bumping, and a bunch of people moving around inside! To have some 20 something in swim trunks, tell us they never open before Labor Day weekend. But they also don’t answer the phone, so you have no possible way of knowing they’re closed! Like come on, not even a voicemail system with a recorded message to let you know not to waste your time! I feel like we can do better here folks!
Nice facility but no availability they are not interested in catering to the Public our kids have no where to swim in the summertime the base does not care about the families because the pool is always closed😔🇺🇸
Call before you go. You may have kids that will get super excited to get out the house and out the heat, make plans out of your day to drive to Moody, only for it to be closed and no one to pick up the phone or give an explanation. Do not recommend.
