About

Well-maintained recreation center featuring a rock climbing wall and an ice rink.

The facility typically maintains its lap pool at 80-82°F (26-28°C), while the leisure/therapy pool is warmer, usually around 88-92°F (31-33°C). A hot tub is also available, generally kept at 102-104°F (38-40°C).

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The community center receives mixed feedback, with many patrons praising its amenities, especially the 25-meter lap pool, and commending the friendly, attentive lifeguards, and 'amazing' overall staff, particularly for membership assistance. However, significant criticisms revolve around the operational hours, which are deemed too short, especially on weekends (opening at 10 AM) and for working adults, with some confusion or dissatisfaction regarding Sunday access. The fitness center is frequently reported as overcrowded with teens, indicating a need for more space and equipment. A notable negative experience cited horrible guest service, involving being charged for closed facilities, receiving limited-time vouchers instead of cash refunds, and encountering staff with attitude. Some reviewers suggest the center needs to clarify its target audience to better align its space and hours, while non-resident pricing is noted as high, though some find it worthwhile.

My only complaint is the hours of operation. To open up at 10 AM on the weekends is insane. Otherwise it’s fantastic

Pricey for non-residents but well worth it. We are swimmers and the lap pool was great. The lifeguards were friendly and attentive. The lap pool is 25-meters, not 25 yards.

Horrible Guest service , changed 3 people $40 to swim and the pool was closed. When I came back to the desk to ask for refund they said they didn’t know the pool was closed and said they would give me a refund but they gave me voucher for only good for a few days. When I asked if I could possibly get a refund because I wouldn’t be able to return they gave me attitude and said no. They said we could use the rock wall, but the rock wall was also closed.

It is very nice that there is a community center with the amenities it offers BUT what good are all the amenities if the hours are not long enough each day to accommodate those working adults that usually workout before or after being in the office. And CLOSED SUNDAYS - why? It’s a community center. Also as other reviews have noted, the fitness center is always so full of teens on equipment, hanging out that it is challenging to move through a workout without waiting a lot for the teens/ young adults to get off equipment. The fitness area needs to be 2x the size, more equipment and open longer hours everyday of the week. It’s as if the Community Center isn’t sure who their target audience is or who they want it to be. If it’s everyone then the space and hours should be adjusted to truly accommodate all. Carbondale community center is open Sundays but Glenwood membership doesn’t apply.

The entire staff is absolutely AMAZING. From the front desk employees to the class instructors, all of them have made me feel right at home. Thank you Jenny and Chris for assisting me with my new membership. ❤️
