About

Merrifield Pool, located at 1000 E Mishawaka Ave, Mishawaka, IN, is a public outdoor aquatic facility offering a range of recreational amenities. It features a zero-depth entry area, water slides, a diving well with diving boards, and lap lanes, serving as a popular summer destination for families and individuals seeking swimming and water play.

Specific, consistent pool temperatures for Merrifield Pool are not publicly advertised. As an outdoor facility operating seasonally, its water temperature naturally fluctuates with ambient weather conditions, typically being comfortable for summer swimming.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this pool facility are mixed, generally praising the clean, warm water, well-maintained pool, and affordable entry fees (around $5), as well as the diligent lifeguards and cheap concession stand prices. Many families appreciate amenities like diving boards and a kiddie pool. However, significant frustrations stem from the water slide being broken for years without repair, a severe shortage of functional chairs (with a no-chair policy for guests), and frequent stockouts at the concession stand. A major point of contention involves recent, increasingly restrictive rules, including the removal of the basketball hoop, a ban on inflated items, and particularly, the prohibition of kids using diving toys, which has led to disappointment and feelings of false advertising for some season pass holders. Additionally, there's a 'no bag' policy with a recurring locker fee and an age restriction requiring 18+ supervision for younger teens, which, while understood by some as a measure against past troublemakers, is viewed by others as overly restrictive.

I hadn't been here in years since I was a kid, and I'm 64 years old now. It was still in great shape the big old platform diving boards were gone the water slide doesn't work anymore but the pool is in great shape the water was warm everything seemed to be excellent.

Love the place food is very cheap and its not expensive to get in only 5$ which is great. Lifeguards are amazing and do their job very well. Water is very clean and the pool feels nice and the diving boards are some much fun

Food/snack and drink prices are very cheap and reasonable. Second year we have been members which is $220 or 230 for the season and $4 per guest (up to two guests). The water slide has been out of order both years we have been members. They say they don’t know when it will be repaired, if ever. There are not many chairs here either, as most of them are broken. The chairs and the slide is the reason I am giving this place 4 stars. The water is always clean and clear. The entire place is very well kept clean. There is a kiddie pool which is beautiful as well. They have two diving boards, 2 rock climbing walls and a small rope zip line. It’s a great place to go. My family and I love it here!

ETA: Dropping the rating to 1 star as they have now decided that kids can no longer use diving toys. They don't have a slide anymore and it won't be getting fixed. They can't have inflated things. They took out the basketball hoop. And now the kids can't even dive for toys. My kids like to jump off the diving boards a little and very occasionally try the rock walls. But they will spend hours diving for toys. Tempted to get a refund on my membership even if it means disputing it with the bank. I spent $150 for a pass that included my kids being able to dive for things because that's basically all they do. For them to change the rule a couple weeks after they open, feels like false advertising as to what is available. Smh. We have been getting the family pass for the last several years. With the exception of a couple years ago when we took a hiatus due to all the troublemakers. We went back last year and it was much better. The downside is that now the well-behaved are not able to go without supervision. It used to be that 13-year-olds could be there but now you have to be 18 or have adult supervision. I understand that this rule is the reason why the riff Raff is no longer a problem. But I wish there was a better way to weed them out. I have kids that are well behaved and would love to spend all day here. We are looking forward to this year.

The pool itself is nice, the price is of admission is reasonable, and I love the presence if multiple lifeguards and the mussic.... but the rules are too much and the concession stand is not enough. You can't bring chairs but there is never enough chairs on deck. For a max pool load of 500, you expect more chairs (not 500, but more than like 10-20). This is the second season the slide has been broken... And Im sure the zip line is broke again. The concession stand is lacking. They are always out of something. They are out of water, Gatorade, certain icecreams which are just basic menu items. At least let people bring water bottles if you can't keep water stocked in this heat Lastly, is the no bag rule which I understand, but to have to pay a quarter every time I open a locker is excessive.
