About

Clean swimming pool featuring a lazy river and a kid-friendly area for the little ones.

The main pool at the Bruce Buchanan Memorial Aquatic Center is heated to ensure a comfortable swimming experience for its visitors. While specific daily temperatures are not widely published, heated outdoor community pools generally maintain temperatures in a comfortable range, often in the low to mid-80s Fahrenheit (approximately 27-29°C), to enhance enjoyment for swimmers.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? This facility is highly praised for its effective and well-run swim lessons, featuring Red Cross Certified, kid-friendly coaches and a favorable teacher-swimmer ratio, leading to significant progress in a short time. Reviewers consistently highlight the cleanliness, well-laid out design, spacious changing rooms, and helpful young staff. Amenities like a lazy river, comfortable lounging areas, and decent concession stand snacks are appreciated, as is the clean and pleasant adjacent park. While generally described as 'amazing and fun,' key drawbacks include the high cost of open swim, which some found prohibitive, and a desire for the addition of big and fast waterslides.

I 💯% recommend the swim lessons here!! My kids learned more in 1 week of lessons here than they did all summer, taking lessons elsewhere. The coaches are Red Cross Certified! Morning and/or Evening options! The teacher - swimmer ratio was great, considering they utilize their Jr Lifeguards as helpers!! All coaches & Jr Guards we encountered were kid friendly, which was a MUST for my kids😁 From a Mama who took her kids elsewhere, prior to here, my kids & I were super excited to find that the absolute best lessons were just a few minutes from home! ** Then my friend & I genuinely enjoyed the water aerobics at the end of lessons💙 The only con for our family we're the prices for open swim. It cost more per person to swim here than anywhere in the valley (including the newly built & opened water slide park). So we didn't get to go for open swim much, due to the cost🙁

Well laid out facility with some very helpful young staffers! There are spacious changing rooms (men, women, and family) that accommodate all types. The pool has spots for those just beginning to seasoned swimmers to those looking to relax. I made use of the lazy river and some comfy reclining chairs while soaking in the sun. I wish I visited earlier this summer but hope to make it back before the fall! (They also have some decent snacks at the concession stand)

Didn't actually go in the pool but we spent a few hours in the adjacent park and it was great. Super clean, no houseless people, no garbage, very not busy. Our first visit to a Selah park and it was great.
