Rooms are nice- nothing fancy. We had the Golf Suite. Lots of room- it can sleep 6 people. Hotel is nice, casino has a good selection of machines. Several choices for food options. Portions are big and food is reasonably priced. FYI for the Stay and Play package, nobody seems to know what's going on with it or how to use it. Just use your room key to make charges to your room.

Rooms are very low quality and I’ve never had a more militant attitude towards players in my life. Do NOT play here. We come with a group of 20 every year and I cannot advise coming, I was winning at a blackjack table which resulted in a. Standoff with wannabe police officers who don’t understand who their customers are. All staff I encountered on my trip would say I was in their top 1% of customers - easy to deal with, good tipper, etc The casino staff wants to ensure groups like Mike never return, we won’t. Imagine being treated like a criminal for being a good customer. Don’t come here, ever.

Great casino for the Upper Peninsula! They had restaurants open late until 1pm which is handy if you are on a roll in the casino. The food at 1am wasn't exceptional but it was prompt and the service was excellent. The machine selection was fantastic for a UP casino and the payouts were amazing, even on smaller bets. Good drinks and a clean environment. They could stand to clean out the smoking area machines more consistently, and tone down the smoke flavor on the burgers - the burgers were made on a flat top but seemed to be sprayed with smoke flavoring to make it taste like it came from a grill. It was not to my taste but others might appreciate it. Couldn't lose on the slot machines, jackpots and bonuses hit consistently and the payouts were excellent. Won over 80 free games on a Buffalo slot, winning almost $500 on an .80 bet. Our visit was just a pop-in while passing through. We had an amazing time and would like to return to experience the hotel and spa services!

I have many reasons for writing this review, and unfortunately, very few positives. This was for my husband's birthday and very very disappointing. Nothing looks as shown on their website. Booking & Pricing: When booking, communication was smooth at first. I received quotes, wrote them down, and confirmed them when I called to book. I was even asked when I wanted my card charged—I chose the night before arrival to have it taken care of. However, a week prior to the trip, I noticed my confirmation email showed a few hundred dollars more than originally quoted. When I called, I was told that the “student” who gave me the original quotes didn't include everything. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since I booked a Stay & Play package, which should have included those items. Payment Issues: The day before our stay, I saw that my card hadn’t been charged. I reached out and was told via email (which I still have) that the payment was being processed and that everything was “all set.” At check-in, staff told me they didn’t need my card and simply handed me the keys—again reassuring me I was set. In reality, my card was not charged until five weeks after our stay. I was never notified of why the card wasn't ran, despite being told multiple times that payment had been completed. This delay is unacceptable and extremely inconvenient. Hotel & Amenities: The hotel itself was very disappointing. Everything food-related was either shut down or unclear. Staff at the customer service desk couldn’t give clear answers. The building is dark, musty, and dated. Online pictures are misleading—there is no true waterpark, only one pool with a slide (also closed during our stay). Our package included breakfast, but the restaurant was closed without notice or signage. After asking multiple staff members (who didn’t seem to know what was going on), we eventually found breakfast served out of the closed bar area. Customer Service: The staff during check-in and throughout our stay were unhelpful and disorganized. Multiple attempts to get clarification or resolution—both during and after the stay—were ignored, including emails directly to management. The Only Positive: The golf courses were outstanding, and I have no complaints there. Final Thoughts: This property is falsely marketed as a resort. Between the misquotes, unprocessed payment, lack of communication, closed amenities, poor customer service, and misleading advertising, I cannot recommend this hotel. The way the delayed charge was handled, with no notice or acknowledgment, was the final straw. I highly suggest staying elsewhere and only visiting for the golf if that is your interest.

We booked the Stay and Play package at Island Resort & Casino, which really drew us in. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and the golf courses were fantastic — beautiful, scenic, and well worth the trip. That said, there were a couple of disappointments. On Mondays, only one restaurant is open, which was a huge bummer, especially since the nearest town is about 20 minutes away. The “free” breakfast included in the package was an egg, sausage, and potato bar — not exactly the quality or variety we were expecting. Overall, great golf and friendly service, but the dining options and breakfast left a lot to be desired.
