About

River Road Park & Recreation District, located at 1400 Lake Dr, Eugene, OR, is a community hub offering a wide array of recreational opportunities. It features an indoor aquatic center, a fitness center, community rooms, and various parks and programs designed to serve the River Road and Santa Clara communities. The district is dedicated to providing accessible and diverse activities for all ages, promoting health, well-being, and community engagement.

The district's indoor aquatic facility maintains its main Indoor Pool at a comfortable 84 degrees Fahrenheit, while the Leisure Pool is kept warmer at 90 degrees Fahrenheit, ideal for relaxed swimming and therapeutic use.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews present a mixed view of the facility. Positive feedback includes praise for great teachers, engaging classes, and individual support, particularly for children with special needs. Some users appreciate the range of amenities, such as the pool, gym, sauna, hot tubs, and kids pool, noting them as affordable. However, significant criticisms include rude and inconsiderate staff, a recent doubling of prices (from $4 to $8) which is widely considered unreasonable, and an old, outdated facility with locker rooms long overdue for remodeling. There is also a notable conflict regarding the enforcement of swimming area rules, specifically concerning children's access to hot tubs; some parents express frustration over strict adherence to rules, while others commend it for safety.

I'd give no stars if I could! The staff is rude and inconsiderate. Now they doubled their prices. This is the oldest pool/facility around. The whole place is long overdue for remodeling. The locker rooms are old and outdated. They doubled their fees from $4 to $8/ visit. As prices of everything else around are skyrocketing how are they going to double the price? I get it, but I think a $2 raise would be more reasonable. Not double the price. The staff just laughs it off like oh well you don't like it don't come. Seems as though they don't care much about the members in the community that go here.

I'm just appalled at how many parents are so shocked by rules in the swimming areas. If my kids were running around and I was told to walk a small child around the pool, guess what, I think I would follow the rules to be a good role model for my children to follow rules. There are reasons that they are not allowed in hot tubs or running around and obeying construction.

I've been going to this pool for 20 years. My daughter who is 6 and has been enjoying the hot tub for 4 of the last years has been kicked out. This is not acceptable. No data on safety concerns exist, and there has never been a kid accident in the hot tub at River Rd. Family visits are ruined.
