About

Indoor pool with a water slide, a diving board and kayak classes or kayaking.

The main lap pool at the Arcata Community Pool is generally maintained at a temperature between 80-82°F (26.7-27.8°C). A smaller, warm water or therapy pool is often kept at a higher temperature, typically around 90°F (32.2°C).

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The facility offers a variety of amenities including swimming lessons, lap swimming, an exercise room, sauna, hot tubs, and a water slide, with positive remarks on well-trained lifeguards and responsive, clean staff. They utilize UV sterilization to reduce chlorine and provide flexible pricing options like punch cards and discounts despite a high annual membership. However, a major concern is the lack of family changing areas and the presence of naked men in locker rooms, which is described as disturbing and not kid-friendly. Some users also found lifeguards overly strict regarding minor safety rules.

Great swimming lessons for grandsons. Definitely need family changing area. Did not appreciate the naked men parading around the locker room. Glad grandpa was there to get them out quickly. Rather disturbing.

Lifeguards are well trained and the staff is very responsive. They have a exercise room and an outside hot tub for adults. Great for swim lessons and lap swimming. The water slide opens during public swim.

Looks amazing for swimming. They even have a sauna and a hot tub!!! I'm told they use half the chlorine by using UV sterilization as well! It's just a bit pricey! About $650 for a year However they do have a 10x punch card for $90 i think...if you're an infrequent swimmer or on a budget. They have senior and children discounts as well! Worth checking out!

Taking my grandson for swim lessons. The staff is great, the facility is clean. Lessons are pretty expensive but what isn't and they have a lot of employees to pay and a big pool to maintain. I appreciate they are in our community.

Nice place except lifeguards are constantly after you about little safety reasons and that gets old when trying play in the pool with kids. Locker room is full of naked old dudes, not very kid friendly in my opinion, no privacy areas
