About

Marilla Pool, located at 705 E Brockway Ave, Morgantown, WV 26501, USA, is a popular seasonal outdoor public swimming facility operated by the Morgantown Parks & Recreation Department. It typically features a large main pool, diving boards, a water slide, and a separate wading pool for younger children, serving as a key community recreational spot during the summer months.

Information regarding the specific temperature of the pool water at Marilla Pool is not readily available. As a seasonal outdoor public pool, it is typically unheated and its temperature is primarily influenced by ambient weather conditions.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Marilla Park is generally praised for being a clean and affordable facility offering a good variety of attractions for all ages, including a large slide with multiple chutes, a deep pool with a diving board, a shallow pool, a baby pool, a splash pad, a lazy river, and a snack trailer. However, several significant drawbacks are frequently mentioned. Parking is a major concern, with limited spaces often leading to overcrowding and requiring visitors to park far away. The park's overall capacity is often deemed insufficient for the crowds it draws, resulting in long lines for slides, an overcrowded and chaotic lazy river (where children often swim rather than float), and limited actual 'swimming' space. Locker rooms are described as inadequate, particularly for families, due to a lack of changing rooms, hooks in showers, and poor drainage. Other criticisms include a lack of sufficient shade, an abundance of concrete, concession stands running out of food early, and a general sentiment that the park is poorly planned and engineered, with features crammed into a small space.

Could be a very nice lazy river and splash pad! Unfortunately lazy river is over crowded with kids kicking and hitting each other with the noodles and swimming in the lazy river- not floating. Concession stand sold out of all food by 2 o'clock, which kinda sucks. Not much parking at all, most people parked all the way down the hill where the old pool was located. Not much actual "swimming" space, and very long lines for slides.

Marilla Park is a clean, affordable place to take the kids compared to other parks. It features a large slide with three different chutes, a small lazy river, a deep pool with a diving board, a shallow 4-foot pool, a baby pool, a splash pad, and a snack trailer. Great variety for all ages!

Went for the first time today. Splash pad and kids area were nice. They had tables and chairs set up in the shade, which they packed away mid-afternoon, not sure if that’s normal? Just be careful if you leave your belongings there. It was a busy day, so lots of us parked down by the old pool or in grass by the old playground, as there isn’t enough by the pool. Locker rooms were NOT what I expected. For the ladies, there were like 8 toilet stalls, 11 lockers, three changing “rooms” that can fit one adult, two little shower cubicles but nothing to hang bags on, and the showers gently flood the floor (floor drain is not optimally located). Having brought two kids, it was tough (impossible?) to get everyone clean, dry, and clothed before heading home. If that’s important to you, try the pools at Mylan or WVU Rec Center instead.

No lie, I'll speak up. The new pool. Hmm anybody really think about it. Yeah wow nice cool slides. But you decreased the volume capacity of swim. Its going to be chaotic, lines and hectic when it opens. The old pool was more suitable for the crowds it draws. The new one seems like spending went a little fishy. But hey man I'm shushing my mouth.

Waste of money. Let us start with the parking lot.. handicap parking beside the entrance good job, but the limited number of spaces is idiotic. Then they put other handicap spaces at the end of the lot? Now let’s talk about the actual pool. If you can call it a pool. You have limited coverage from the sun. The. You have tables with umbrellas but this is limited as well. So a % of people are not going to be laying on a chair or bench but concrete!? The whole park is nothing no but concrete 100% of it. Then you have a lazy river pool with the only flotation device is a noodle!? They have two children pools which is nice but no real actual pool. Their as a long line, again no shade for the three slides. It’s just a really poor planned and engendered water ….park. Everything is crammed into a small space.
