This out dated pool has officially become the place to be for all! The renovation has been a HUGE community success and it’s been so great to see this pool become what it is today 🥹 We’ve had a great summer enjoying this pool almost daily thanks to the Fargo Parks 5-1 pass, coming here you have everything you need for a great day of swimming: hot concession meals, great options for snacks, and a great park outside the pool to enjoy from 4pm-5pm if you plan on swimming session 2!

*Fun tube slide, fly slide, lazy river, open boards, deep pool and splash pool for little kids. *The facilities were clean, well-maintained, and perfect for both kids and adults. *Family-friendly atmosphere, and super alert lifeguards who made us feel very safe. *Great spot for a fun and relaxing swim day! !No floaties allowed, they have their own. !Life jackets provided. !Bring your own towel. !on Weekends: come when doors open to secure a pool lounger. *Pool water is cold, my baby couldn't tolerate it :(

My first experience at the new island park and i am not impressed at all. if you don’t have a pool pass, it is so not worth the $12.50 The slides look pretty fun. I didn’t get to experience them because the line was long and it was just complete chaos. The lazy river isn’t managed well at all. There are kids swimming in it without inner tubes no care in the world, bumping into people and have no manners my experience in the lazy river was not fun at all. Me and my mom and aunt went there, thinking to have fun, but when we enter the lazy river, a bunch of kids just started jumping in almost practically jumping on top of us. kids had goggles on diving under us while were in inner tubes. kids trying to pop their heads up in the wrong spot an i almost jumped out of mine cause i felt a head under my butt… It’s just not safe at all in the lifeguards just don’t seem to care. We even asked one of the lifeguards if kids were allowed to just jump in and freely swim in it and they said they’re allowed to, which doesn’t make sense because it’s called a lazy river not a swimming river because if kids are allowed to swim in it what’s the point with the inner tubes? if kids can swim and dive with goggles and stuff that could cause harm or even possible drowning it gets so crowded what if kids were to dive under with goggles or without and not be able to come back up cause how many people with tubes are in there so it’s just not safe so yeah it’s not managed well at all but the big pool on the other hand is really nice actually had a lot of fun just in regular pool but just doesn’t make sense how kids can just swim in the lazy river without inner tubes so if they can do that, why can’t we just bring the inner tubes into the regular pool? Doesn’t make sense how kids can just do whatever they want and the lifeguards just let them so yeah not worth the $12.50 if you don’t have a swim pass, I luckily had one cause I would not have paid $12.50 for that definitely hated my first experience there an it closes on tuesday so definitely won’t be coming back 😂😂

Once you get past the steep entrance fee, you walk through the new locker rooms/rest rooms that are at most half the size of what they used to be. We luckily got there early enough, but I imagine they get pretty crowded when the pool is busy. The swimming pool itself is much smaller than it used to be, and as more people arrived it got pretty cramped with little space to actually swim. The lazy river is complete chaos. There is no one managing the empty abandoned inner tubes, they’re all over the deck and in the river. There are people both adults and children just swimming in the lazy river. I felt on high alert the entire time I was floating in the river out of fear I’d bump into someone. I think small children are especially at risk of being harmed or injured when not using an inner tube. Getting in and out can be challenging due to the amount of people and the motion of the water. In my attempt to get out without getting hit by another person or hitting anyone, I injured my hand. We only went on the green slide, which was very fun and well managed. You must sign a waiver to go on the blue slide. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the updates that have been made and the now much higher price point for entry. I think that some of the new features could be fun, but they are poorly managed by staff. It can get pretty crowded in the pool area, which limits your ability to actually swim there.

When it says they close at 4:00..they mean 4:00!!! The female life guards were yelling in the locker room,, "Pool closed at 4:00! " meanwhile I'm in the shower. We went into the locker room at 3:30 , waited 20 minutes in line to use the handicap shower ( my daughter uses a wheelchair) I hurried to shower her, as she is sensitive to chlorine, then I proceeded to rinse myself off, after I had gotten her dressed and transferred to her wheelchair... I hear yelling from the staff... I hurried.. Didnt have time to get fully dressed ( no shoes) I then proceeded to finish putting our swimsuits in the automatic ringer... My daughter had put her top in already, the female staff (12) total standing inside of the locker room...one staff member told me, finish letting your swimsuit dry in your car... The pool is closed. Meanwhile it's 4:05.... There were not enough showers, I told her and she said there's more on the other side of the pool.., there were +200 plus people there that day... Out of the 12 female life guards, only 1 of them offered to assist my daughter with the automatic swim suit ringer.... I could not believe the rudeness of staff,, the rushing.. No empathy or compassion... Terrible experience... I will not returning. I will let everyone else who has special needs children know about the lack of support from staff.. I was very disappointed with this. I had fun until up to this point. I left humiliated and frustrated.
