About

Public swimming pool catering to kids, featuring multiple slides and a wading pool.

Specific temperature information for the pool(s) at Roger G. Gress Northside Pool is not readily available in public records. Outdoor public pools are generally heated to a comfortable swimming temperature, but an exact or typical figure is not consistently published.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? This pool is primarily designed for smaller children, timid swimmers, or those learning to swim, featuring a shallow main area (max 5 feet deep), various smaller slides (including a tube slide and one for toddlers), a climbing structure, and water spray features. Parents appreciate the option to accompany young children down the slides. Lifeguard strictness receives mixed reviews; some found them friendly and not overly strict, while others experienced constant whistle-blowing and numerous rules (e.g., no holding on backs, no diving toys), which could be frustrating for older or more confident children. Vigilance, however, is generally acknowledged. The pool can be quiet on Sunday afternoons but very busy on weekdays. A specific negative mention was a foul-smelling family changing room. Overall, it's considered an excellent environment for young children to gain confidence, though older kids seeking more adventurous slides or fewer restrictions might prefer other venues.

This pool is clearly for smaller kids. There is a small kid area with a thing you climb on and can slide down a tube slide. They don't let you slide down if they deem you "too big". There isn't a dumping bucket like some places have; but they do have two ropes you can pull that will spray water down. The swim area is very shallow. There are no diving boards. The deepest part of the pool is 5 feet deep maybe? Most of it is shallow for smaller kids to be able to touch. The slide is smaller and not too scary. This place would be great for timid kids, and kids learning how to swim. They let you go down the slide with your kid in front of you, which is nice. Alas; the whistles are blowing constantly here. Kids can't hold on to your back. No diving toys allowed. My son was getting frustrated about getting talked to so often. They are very cautious here; again, may be nice for very young kids just learning how to swim, but kids over 6 who are excellent swimmers and are ok with bigger slides might want to go elsewhere. We all had fun, but probably won't return unless we have a kid with that wants a place where they can gain confidence in their abilities.

We've come to swim twice this summer. It was not busy on a Sunday afternoon. I was surprised that my children were able to use the tall slide and am grateful. They enjoyed the place. We swam on a weekday and it was quite busy. The family changing room could use a deep cleaning, it smelt so foul like decayed urine. Otherwise, staff were friendly.

This is our favorite pool. The water slide is great for smaller kids, and they let you take tiny kids down the slide on your lap. The lifeguards are very friendly and hardly have to blow their whistles. There is a small slide for little kids, and some water features for them to play. It is not as big and fancy as davies, but it's great if you have smaller kids

My grandchildren and I always have fun when we go to this pool. They love the things geared toward small children and always enjoy getting treats from the concession stand during swimming breaks. I appreciate the fact that the life guards are vigilant-always better safe than sorry.

The life guards are strict and you can't do anything besides the slide and overall I would lower down the strictness
