About

The Splash Pad located at Legion Park, 1206 Turnpike Rd, Laurinburg, NC 28352, USA, is a popular public recreational water play area. It features various interactive water elements like jets, sprayers, and fountains, designed primarily for children and families to cool off and enjoy outdoor fun during warm weather.

Splash pads typically utilize fresh tap water or recirculated, filtered water, which is not usually heated or temperature-controlled like a traditional swimming pool. Therefore, specific, maintained pool temperatures are not publicly available or reported for this type of facility; the water temperature is generally ambient.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the splash pad are mixed. Many visitors report a $2 per person/child entry fee, which is a common point of contention compared to other free splash pads, though one reviewer did state it was free. While children generally have a good time in the fenced, shaded area, common criticisms include its small size, disrepair (e.g., floor coming up in chunks), and lack of features like a large water bucket. A significant negative is the strict no outside food or drink policy, which has caused frustration, particularly regarding water for breastfeeding mothers or children's unfinished juices. Positives include friendly staff, good supervision for kids, and the presence of bathrooms, outdoor showers, and a newly remodeled playground nearby.

Most splash pads are free (like in Moore and Lee counties), but you have to pay $2 per person getting in the water at this one, it is smaller and falling apart. The floor is coming up in chunks. There's no big bucket that fills like at most parks either. It is pretty dinky. On top of it they don't allow outside food or drinks, which is understandable since they sell them...but they didn't even let me (a breastfeeding mother mind you) keep my bottle of water. 🙄 They were nice enough to put it in their fridge for me, but it is a basic necessity of life... especially when it is hot enough to go to a splash pad! On the plus side, they had water spraying out of holes and my children had a good time. They were safe in a fence and there was enough shade for my baby and I. The staff was friendly.

We came here because it was my 2 year old daughters birthday. We figured it would be the perfect place to spend the day for her 2nd birthday. We let our kids play at the park before heading to the splash pad. The park is awesome! When it was time to go cool off at the splash pad we found out why no one was over there. It’s $2 per child. Ok that’s not bad. We were surprised there was an entry fee but whatever. Also, my children had juices they hadn’t quite finished from when we were at the park. The person at the gate told us we could put them in their refrigerator and purchase more drinks from them. I was very disturbed by the stupidity of this comment. Mostly because this would require me to take my 2 yr old daughters juice and then spend money on another one. Also the audacity of someone to assume I’d be willing to spend even more money because of a park “rule” is ridiculous! I am still debating on whether or not we will be returning. Sad because we never come to Laurinburg and we made a special trip for my daughters birthday which turned out to be cut short very abruptly.
