What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this aquatic center are mixed, with significant negative feedback overshadowing some positive comments. Multiple patrons reported encountering rude and unprofessional staff, including lifeguards making disparaging remarks about customers' appearances and management (specifically named Jeanne Schreiner) showing a lack of compassion and rigid adherence to rules, particularly regarding children being barred from the kiddy pool after passing a swim test for other attractions. One reviewer noted consistently disgusting bathrooms. These negative experiences led to disappointment, with some visitors deeming the facility not worth the money. On the positive side, some found the pool fun and clean, with one mention of nice lifeguards and appreciation for it as a community amenity, but these positive aspects were largely overshadowed by the poor customer service and specific rule enforcement issues.

Don't go there if you're a bigger person. Or as the lifeguard said, a "big back." My wife had just finished paying $150 for our family passes for the third year in a row when she overheard (James) talking about the "big back" with the Go Pro camera. James didn't realize that "big back" was married to the woman he was speaking in front of. When my wife called him out on his rude comments, he tried to say he was just talking about me bc of the Go Pro. It's a camera and just as common as a phone these days. Having a Go Pro doesn't automatically make you the most interesting person in the world. We literally have a brand new water park that just opened in our hometown this year, about 5 mins from our house. We still CHOSE to go to BFAC and drive 30 mins one way bc we typically have a great experience. It's unfortunate that a mouthy young kid of a lifeguard changed my perception of BFAC. When I was leaving for the day a few female employees (including the assistant manager) asked me why I had the Go Pro and basically pretended to be interested in whether I was a content creator of some kind. I assume it was their way of covering for James and trying to make me feel better about the whole situation. It. Did. Not. An apology from James would have been a much better way to go in my opinion. The pool is run by the city so I doubt anything will be addressed or any changes will made just bc of my poor review. Hopefully they will learn not to gossip and speak badly about their patrons. Especially in front of the spouse of the person(s) they're talking about.

Very fun pool, clean, and the lifeguards were nice. The yellow waterside is so fun, you can catch some air if you go down it just right

We've enjoyed having a community pool in our town for years! Our children love making memories here. While they're always making changes and updates, some items do get neglected. The bathrooms are disgusting this year, 2023, and it's only been open a few weeks. A new to us rule we found out is if your older kids pass the slide test, they're unable to come into the kiddy pool - regardless if the parent is in there too. We will keep supporting our local pool regardless.

Would NOT recommend this place, particularly because of the management and how they treat First Time guests. We are visiting from out of town and my seven-year-old son was enjoying sitting in the fountains in the little pool. Out of all the things he enjoyed that the most. Then he decided he wanted to try the diving board so he had to take a swim test. After he took the swim test he said okay now you can no longer go in the little pool. This was his favorite part. They should have told him before hand so he can make a choice. Ask the managers to have a little compassion on the seven-year-old boy who really wants to have fun here and it's his first time and the mean old lady said no we have rules. Well mean old lady, I found out her name is, Jeanne Schreiner, I suggest that you learn how to treat people as person's first and not just look at it set of rules. No you would not see hundreds of people asking for the same request because my seven-year-old boy sat and played in the fountains for 5 minutes. All you would have had to do is look at that little boy and say here you go ahead have fun. But no you chose ridiculous logic and saying that well we have rules. I suggest the owners of this place find a new manager who has a heart because this mean lady obviously does not have one and she's more concerned about rules than people. And again it's ridiculous to say that you would now have to make an exception from everybody. No you wouldn't. Use some common sense. It would have harmed nobody. All you did today was show an out-of-state visitor do you have no compassion, you're bent on your rules what you could have made it easy exception for, and you made a little seven-year-old boy sad all because we chose to visit the Breckenridge Aquatic Center hoping to have a good time. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

I have been to a ton of pools across the country but this one was the most disappointing. The pool area was nice but the poor attitudes and the rudeness of the lifeguard staff had me leaving after 40 minutes. Not only were they rude to me but they were also rude to my child and other children. When I told the lady in the office that I was leaving because of how rude the staff were being toward me and others, she just rolled her eyes and said "sorry." Definitely not worth the money unless you like paying people to insult you. I would recomend driving an extra 10 minutes to the pool in Whapeton.
