About

The Fayetteville Athletic Club (FAC), located at 2920 E Zion Rd, Fayetteville, AR, is a comprehensive fitness and recreational facility. It offers a wide array of amenities including a fitness floor, multiple group fitness studios, indoor and outdoor pools, various racquet sports courts (tennis, basketball, pickleball, and racquetball), a sauna, steam room, whirlpool, a pro shop, and childcare services, catering to a diverse range of member needs.

The club's indoor lap pool is maintained at a comfortable 82 degrees Fahrenheit for year-round use. Additionally, there is a warm water therapy pool kept between 92-94 degrees Fahrenheit, designed for therapeutic benefits. The outdoor pool is seasonal, with its temperature not explicitly stated but typically ambient.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Fayetteville Athletic Club (FAC) is frequently praised for its extensive, well-maintained, and top-tier facilities, which include state-of-the-art gym equipment, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and courts for tennis, pickleball, and racquetball. Many appreciate the diverse range of fitness classes, personalized training options, and amenities like a spa, health-focused café, and a Kid's Club. The barbecue at the tennis facility is specifically highlighted as excellent, and some note new equipment and upcoming recovery modalities. However, a significant and recurring point of criticism revolves around poor customer service, particularly concerning front-of-house and membership staff. Members report experiences of being ignored, extreme difficulty with membership changes, cancellations, or postponements, unexpected charges even after cancellation, and perceived unresponsiveness to feedback or online reviews. Concerns are also raised about high membership costs and supervision of lost and found.

Great facility, amazing accommodations and recreational opportunities.. But, I feel they need to invest in more experienced front of house staff. I won’t go into detail. There are previous reviews to refer to customer service. I just left because I’m very disappointed in the ability to supervise there lost and found or hold their staff responsible and I feel it financially.. Changing to a one star, because they obviously don’t respond or acknowledge these reviews. It should be recognized as a chance for growth.

This facility thrives off enrollment deposits and overcharges on memberships. We were promised an easy process if we needed to skip a month (I had surgery and wouldn't be allowed to move around for 3 weeks) cut to - not only can we not postpone or cancel- memberships have risen by $40+. Might as well be making monthly payments for gym equipment for my home. Also - just as other comments suggest, my card was still charged after I canceled through online portal.

The barbecue at the tennis facility is to die for! Best BBQ in Northwest Arkansas. Facility is top tier as well. A little outdated but functional nonetheless. Just got new cardio equipment and are opening a whole other part of the gym with recovery modalities.

Customer service here is not great for the price they charge for membership. This is my third bad experience. I walked in to make changes to my membership. I let the front desk know this. I was told to take a seat as there was 1 person ahead me. That person was called by one of the membership personnel. About five minutes later another membership personnel arrive at her office. I sat there for 15 minutes being ignored. Another guest enters and had membership questions and was sent directly to her office for assistance. Once done I sat there for another 15 minutes being ignored. Finally a staff member who stopped by to talk to the membership personal finally asked me if have been helped or had a question after seating there for 30 minutes. Once I informed what I was looking they asked the front desk to provide paperwork for me to sign requesting the changes. I am not sure why the front desk just did not present the needed paperwork instead of having me sit down for 30 minutes and be ignored. I am currently looking at potentially switching gyms. As long as you only need to check in is fine, but needing help is another story.
